lol this is by far the most polished, feature rich and bug free Ubisoft game ive played in forever. what are you talking about?

So an Assassin Creed game not having an option to unfog the map and pass the time of the day seems acceptable to you? How many Assassin's Creed games have you played man? Lol

All of this should've been at launch.

It's quite pathetic to be honest

New expansion pack should have been in the game at launch????

You can totally finish even 100% the game with the old level cap and still feel like youve been grinding the levels and have near unlimited build options.
Im guessing its also for people who have already reached the level cap in base game and dont want to start a new game for the expansion, they can still gain levels with the expansion.
And have points to customize their builds more.

The DLC weapons being free for everyone is nice surprise too.......
Gear having an even higher quality tier is also welcome....although i know ill probably never need the highest tier.

I could have sworn changing TOD was already in the game..........was i misremembering?

Other improvements are always welcome and without unlimited QA bugs are inevitable, especially in a game this large.

Uncapped cutscenes.......why devs see the need to ever cap cutscenes on PC is really beyond me.
Ill never understand it, and theres always a mod within like a day the uncaps the cutscenes......why isnt there just a toggle for whether you want to cap cutscenes or not?

And obviously some Ezio themed stuff has to be in........free so I aint gonna complain.

Both of those were deliberate design decisions. The devs have said in a stream that they were very reluctant to add these, but players demanded them.

obviously claws of awaji support should've been in the game since day one, also a level cap increase shoud've been there, oh an increase over what you ask? who knows, it should've just been infinite I guess. Improvements to certain aspects as well and you can't add new weapons either, so they game should've launched with infinite weapons as well; just a game with infinite content and zero updates.

every single one except for spin-offs.

Time of day is such a minor thing, no one should be that upset over it.

Unfog the map? when was that ever a thing? you play on PC just download a mod.

And the backlash of the community shows how stupid these decisions they made were. But its Ubisoft Quebec so its not surprising that they make stupid decisions

they added it in photo mode, but not gameplay because adding it to gameplay would've been retarded as it completely breaks the core balance of the game; but as always ubisoft buckled to the whiny loud minority to go and break their own game by finally adding it in.

I'm really glad ToD change will come as I was disappointed many times that i couldn't see a certain place in daytime and I missed the beatiful scenery because of nighttime.

You've got missions tied to the time of day. Not being able to simulate the passing of time was incredibly annoying. Gonzito Gonzito is right. This is something that should have been in the game day one. That you don't have a problem with it doesn't mean no one else does or should. They made these changes because people had a problem with it.

you can have a problem with it but calling it pathetic is a bit too much.

i dont play playing at night either, but its really not that big of a deal. Besides the game looked amazing at dawn and dusk. its a nice feature to have. insomniac also took some time to add it in spiderman 2. i was grateful and said thanks instead of insulting them.

Bought this on Saturday and i'm already 30 hours in. Awesome game.

I'd say about 25 of those 30 hours has just been exploring the map, and judging from the unfog i'd say i have explored about 20% of the map tops.

Love them or hate them but no one gives you 'bang for your buck' like Ubisoft.

What is map unfog?

I just looked this up - the map starts off covered up and reveals itself in a space around your character, but the space it reveals is quite tight. And it doesnt automatically unfog an entire region as you complete all activities in it, so you can 100% the game and still have a ton of the map covered up with fog over mountains you didnt climb. This wouldnt bother me, but I guess assasins creed games sell most to OCD level gamers who like to do everything and it was driving them mad.
I just read on reddit someone saying they like to unfog the map 100% before doing any story because it annoys them so much and it took them 13 hours to completley uncover it.

the fact that ubisoft is putting out patches to appease people who should probably be on medication is wild.

Yeah, time of day adjustment should have definitely been there like in Origins. You can change season but not the time of day? Come on. It's also especially important since it's the first AC game where the level of light matters, so it's better to do stealth missions at night.

I find hard to believe that you have played previous games when you are ignoring so many missing features at launch

There was no option to see your headgear during cutscenes
No option to unfog the map when visiting view points
No option to choose time of the day
No mercenary system or bounty system
No torches
No auto-follow path with the horse
They even removed hunting system, you cant hunt animals unlike previous rpg games

Should I continue? The game was missing many, many features that previous games had and most of them have been added post launch which is ridiculous because this franchise is huge with many games so why going backwards in terms of options? Hell, even Mirage which feels like a dlc had all those features

There is no excuse and the fact that you dont even want to acknowledge what I am saying and dismiss it makes me lose respect for you as user here, just saying

They've always done this, it's ubisoft's modus operandi, they've got this obsession to please everyone so they can achieve the most widespread appeal, even though that's not possible, so in the end they just wind up bending over backwards for even the whiniest people out there.

It's that thing the helldivers studio commented on recently:
Responding to this, Arrowhead CEO Shams Jorjani acknowledges that "this is a challenge for all games," with streamers representing "the playstyle of a minority" even if they "set standards for many as they have a platform to broadcast and many who look." As for Arrowhead's approach to this, he says, "we balance things out internally by looking at a lot of data, metrics and qualitative data like said streamers."

It appears that Jorjani sees streamers as a loud minority of Helldivers 2's playerbase, as he says: "The vast, vast majority silently play the game – they don't post here or on Reddit. And when we do good we [see] this in the stats – and when we don't we also see it – sometimes it overlaps with what influencers or people say in social media – often it does not. So we use different tools to calibrate our compass."

Ubisoft isn't like that, they see people crying and immediately pivot.

I thought it was an incredibly bad design decision and I recall complaining about it in the OT. I took screenshots of Naoe waiting in a safehouse for over an hour in real time at the very end when I had one thing left to do and it had to be at night. Such an incredible waste of time.

I don't see how it is "that big of a deal" for a guy to use the word "pathetic" when expressing his frustration over things left out of a game that should have been there at launch.

This game might have the most boring narrative of all time for a big budget game. Not joking either
And the English voice acting is HORRIBLE. How did we go from Black Flag to this?

Ubisoft needs to fire their writers. They're the biggest problem with their games. Their engineers and artists are some of the best in the industry but are dragged down by those awful writing teams.

How did no one tell me about Rooftop Cat?

I really should get back to this. It was the first real showcase for me of the Pro. Gonna take me a bit to get my bearings though with all these new additions.

Goddamn backlog FML

Does anyone actually care about this game? On steam it had 2100 players in the past 24 hours. For comparison, Odyssey which came out in 2018, had 7900 players.

I see a lot of people whine simply because its an Ubisoft game. Go find something else to do. I personally enjoy their stuff most of the time. I've been enjoying this game, without "unfog" and whatever else.

As time passes, gamers....or people who play games these days are just so strange. Maybe its always been like this and internet just made it worse?

Odyssey is currently on sale. 85% off.
That might be it. But even then, Odyssey seems to hover around 7-10k players on average (quite respectable imo) for the past 3 years. Shadows being a AAA game that came out 5-6 months ago and only having 2-3k players at the moment is pretty abysmal. It looks like the player numbers just dropped off a cliff after only 1-2 months.

So far, both of you have only been able to justify ONE of those things.
The rest are QOL improvements and additional DLC that really cannot have been there at launch.

Edit:

Someone's upset 🤗
I'm so sorry

The support the do for AC games is insane, I shelved this due to time constraints but I just know when I finally circle back to this game it's going to only get better and better.

The support Valhalla got after launch also impressed me a lot.

It's a combination of the internet, millenial gamers aging, and Ubisoft sticking to 'by the numbers' design.
