Don't know, but that one robot (with the multiple bar like shit over the arms) looks straight out of the project force vid.

Looks like it's the same game as Project Force, but wow, it looks so much better than the original presentation.

Maybe because the original presentation was running in real time at 100%.
This is a probably a target render which surely represents what the final game will look like.

Xbox 360 is getting a lot of Japanese franchises that were PS2 launch games isn't it? :)

Maybe 360 won't flatline in Japan afterall.

oh GAWD please tell me that was realtime and not prerendered CG!

I guess if it was realtime it would of course be like replay views and such...

I'm a HUGE AC whore... I think I own every AC game out there so far. I had a feeling that "Codename Project Force" was Armored Core 4. I just hope they get the engine worknig good, I like mechs and all but they control so heavy and stiff... I hope the AC's will be able to manuver like in that trailer where it shifts side to side.

And maybe... just maybe, It will actualyl play like ZOE.

Is it just me, or is FromSoftware stretching themselves super, super thin right now?

I mean, they have all the following in development right now (7 titles, 6 on next gen machines and 1 of which on both PS3 and 360), and the studio only consists of 190 people:

PS3:
Dark (RPG)
Black Blade (Action)

Xbox360:
Chrome Hounds (Mech Action)
eM: Enchanted Arm (RPG)
Tenchu (Ninja Action)

PS3 & 360:
Armored Core 4 (Mech Action)

PS2:
Yoshitsune Eiyuuden Shura (Samurai Action)

Damn...

not EVERYTHING is done in studio, sure they have a lot of their plate but they're not all being released at the same time are they? Isn't next gen development supposed to be much easier then developing for PS2/XBox?

I'm pretty sure all those titles are being developed by From and From alone; you'd think they'd announce a co-developer if there was one. Now, not every title is being funded by From themselves (Sega is funding Chrome Hounds for example), but that isn't really my point. My point is with 7 games going and only 190 staff members, that's an average of under 30 guys on each game at once. And you know not all of the 190 people actually work on the games.

And you're right that PS3 and 360 development is easier (well, we know PS3 is, 360 is still up in the air, especially when comparing it to the Xbox 1), but it's also more complex right? Less than 30 is damn small for this gen, let alone the start of the next.

Maybe some of the games are a couple years off though, who knows.

I hope they are able to get this version online.

I hope From Software is able to get the PS3 version on-line, outside of Japan. The last thing I want to see is Japanese developers only pursuing on-line game development with Microsoft Training Wheels on. >:|

Not to mention it would be a huge slap in the face of every AC fan from the past near decade that has supported their games on the Playstation family of consoles. It would be a different story if From Software pulled a Tecmo and went exclusive with the series to Xbox. Only time will tell. I just hope From Software doesn't drop the ball. The past five years have revealed their on-line game development as lacking.

Yeah, you're a whore; but you haven't demonstrated any recognizable traits of an AC fan.

Because if you were an AC fan, you would know that you can design a lightweight AC that is fast and maneuverable. It also helps to know which buttons to press when playing the game to achieve the desired effect. AC is a game of skill, a newbie can't just waltz in and expect a stock AC to maneuver like Jehuty by using just simple inputs.

I think I own every AC game out there so far.

And if that isn't sufficient evidence to disprove that simply owning everything makes you "good" at it, I don't know what will. :P

I know how to build my AC's lightweight/manuverable are CRAP in battle sure they can dodge a couple of shots with basic piloting skills but even then HP is always a big problem. I've been playing AC games since well the original AC was released on the PSX so don't be calling me a Newbie without getting your facts straight. I'm not talking about controlling an AC like Jehuty, just to have the mech move more... FLUID like ZOE. Are you saying you wouldn't want the game to control like in trailer? where there's a very smooth transition from flight, to booster, dodging etc

Are you saying you wouldn't want the game to control like in trailer? where there's a very smooth transition from flight, to booster, dodging etc

It already does. A smoth transition from flight to running can be achieved by feathering the boost button. Taking off from a moving position is relatively smooth depending on the direction you are headed in, which makes perfect sense considering the game is applying it's own brand of real physics to how this massive hunks of metal would handle.

You just want to have your cake and eat it too:

I know how to build my AC's lightweight/manuverable are CRAP in battle sure they can dodge a couple of shots with basic piloting skills but even then HP is always a big problem.

It's a balancing act. Do you want speed and agility, or do you want armor?

Better yet, just find an AC tournament and attend. You'll see a level of AC playing skill you obviously can't comprehend given your complaints in this thread.

You're not going to get ZoE out of AC, so just stick a sock in it and go play ZoE if you want ZoE.
