After this awful Simpsons, catch the 4th episode of Arrested Development!

Also, check out the website to see bloopers from previous episodes!

I like how half of the Arrested Development thread is always about how awful the Simpsons was. Seriously though, that was, in my memory, the worst Simpsons I have watched.

Love the CBrown and Snoopy gag

How does the show stay so goddamn funny.

GOB is the f'n best. Arnett should get a supporting emmy.

"I need you to spin this around to show the audience that there's no trap door...

...and then, I'll escape through this trap door!"

Holy god is this show funny. :lol

Did anyone notice that George was discovered the same way Saddam was?

:lol

That was awesome, I couldn't stop laughing!!

Anybody else notice the Charlie Brown music? :lol The first time it played George Michael passed a red dog house with a beagle sleeping on top of it!!! SNOOPY! :lol

So subtle and yet so effective

Arrested Development = Best comedy on TV

Yeah the only comedy that even comes close is Scrubs IMO.

I thought I heard Mike say as plain as Ann and the nose on her face.

He did, at least something like that...too funny.

*WHAT* is with the Charlie Brown music? :lol

I never stop laughing at the running gag that each show has. This with the Charlie Brown hangdog; last episode with Gene Parmesean. I never see it coming and die lauging each time.

This has to be the episode put up for consideration for an emmy.

I'm pissed this is only the third episode I've ever seen. I can't believe I missed the first season of this.

edit: I missed the charlie brown joke, can someone explain

Didn't like the running gag as much as previous ones (like Gene), but every episode is great...and I'm a sucker for Job's routines..especially with "The Final Countdown" playing :D :lol

Scrubs is pretty good. It has some really funny bits, but often times gets caught up in its "message of the day" (random J.D. voiceover: It's not everyday you learn something about yourself...)

AD seems to be more consistent and creative IMO.

They are so evil to that poor Anne girl:

(Paraphrasing)

George Sr: That's Anne?
George Michael: Yup
George Sr: ........
George Michael: She's really funny
George Sr: Yeah, she better be

So mean, it's not like she's hideous.

:lol

"I don't know what I'm saying."

A great episode, all around. I only caught the last four minutes of the Simpsons, but oh man. So bad. Anyone else notice that the art style is becoming more rounded?

Clearly I'm the only one, but I'm pretty disappointed with this season. The second episode was so damn funny it hurt, but otherwise I've just found them ok.

Tonight's was funny in places (popop in the attic; she's really funny, yeah she better be), but I just think there's something off. The timing, the flow of the stories...I dunno.

Like I say though, I seem to be the only one thinking this. Tonight's episode wasn't helped by the fact that I missed every single Snoopy joke. I just don't know about Snoopy I guess.

I'm hoping that the fact that these Arrested Development threads are getting bigger means it's ratings are higher. At least I hope it is.

I remember originally it was like myself and four or five people.

Hasn't that been happening for at least a half decade?

Anyway, another good episode. I still need to watch the first season, but I'm enjoying the second a lot.

I loved Buster's 'military' uniform. I'm sure a lot of people were convinced.

The Peanuts gags were pretty great. I cracked a wide smile when I saw the doghouse with the beagle on top.

I've been watching since episode one and it's still as funny as ever.

The whole Charlie Brown tidbits were hilarious. And Tobias seems to be getting angstier every day.

I love this show. I was even grinning like an idiot while reading this thread, just remembering all the funny parts.

Tobias to Michael: "People really shouldn't bottle up their emotions. *opens fridge* ...WHERE THE FUCK ARE MY EGGS?" :lol

I think I'm going to buy the first season on DVD, since I've only seen a few episodes. Is it a full season (~22)?

Haha, seriously.

Heh, apparently the episode was titled "Good Grief!"

About the ratings, from what I've read it's up by a little this year. Last year it was averaging 6.2 million people and this year it's just under 7 million. We'll see, that data was only after the first three episodes.

I've been watching since episode 1...if Fox cancels this show it will be banned in my household

Unfortunately, I have the feeling that most mainstream viewers won't *get* this clever comedy :/

^ I dunno. I've told EVERYONE I know about this, and everyone that's checked it out has really liked it. Even my Dad who thinks every single show is stupid really liked it.

Well, that's good to hear, hopefully the word of mouth keeps up

I told all my friends in the UK to watch it when it started showing there, and not one of them did. Bastards.

I reckon if I could get them to watch a few episodes of the DVD in a row, that might do it. You can start to get to know the characters and understand the running jokes etc that way.
