- Is Gabel trying to do a British accent now...?
- Damn, half of Slade's face is charcoal
- oof, this roy/thea scene...
- "I don't understand how you could forgive me after what I just did..." we don't either
- lol @ the Count saying a man of means gave him all this stuff in order to do THIS; *pulls out a tiny pistol and misses at Oliver*; wow, great plan dude
- Oliver won't kill for Laurel or Thea, but he will kill for Felicity... She's the female lead at this point, right?
- btw, I knew Count was dead the second he figured out Oliver was Arrow
- Thea's gonna figure it out soon
- YYYEEEEESSSSSSS MALCOLM!!! THEA'S A MINI-MERLYN!!! LET THE SOAP WASH OVER ME!!!!
oh, and Laurel did stuff.
I always assumed Malcolm was still alive because the wound was the exact same one Oliver had, and Oliver literally walked it off and went half way across town to have scenes with Laurel and Dying Tommy. Why wouldn't Malcolm survive that? When the season started I was surprised when the characters were saying he died.
Great episode. Not sure how I feel about the twist at the end. A bit too soapy for me. Slade looks like garbage. Definitely leading to him gaining metahuman status from the sub.
I'm curious which route they will take with Merlyn, faked his death or japanese voodoo magic nonsense (since that is where island storyline is going I assume). Personally I think him faking his death is actually kind of lame given the circumstances of taking a god damn arrow through the heart, but, that's just me. Never thought I'd say this, but, I'll only be ok with him being alive if there is comic book magic involved.
Pretty sure that is because the defense's only defense was based around the fact that Moira was under duress from Merlyn, so the fact they had an affair at some point during the whole mess makes her look worse, the kidnapping of Walter was the killing blow, though.

A winded/nearly defeated Oliver had to make the arrow go all the way through Oliver's body, then through Malcolm's ribs too, then hit him in the right spot. Probably not easy to aim. And keep in mind Oliver was attacking a guy behind him where he couldn't see.
That'd be stupid if he died from that, IMO, outside of dumb luck on Oliver's part.
I don't know anything about the comic book lore, so I didn't know, but, this sounds good to me. How that scene played out in the finale it would be pretty much the dumbest thing ever for him to somehow fake his death. Resurrection is the only way this story line isn't stupid right from the start.
It's not just surviving the arrow through the heart that seems crazy to me (though it's odd) it's more of the fact that he was stranded on the roof of a building bleeding to death alone. It seems completely unreasonable that Merlyn could have escaped from the roof of that building alone. And if he wasn't alone does that mean he just happened to plan ahead for the fact that Ollie was going to kill him? That would be some really fast planning considering just hours before that fight Ollie was Merlyn's prisoner so he wasn't even expecting to fight him on the roof.
Whole thing just seems horribly unbelievable to me if he somehow managed to save himself and then proceed to fake his death.
Y'all applying way too much logic to a show about a dude who regularly beats heavily armed thugs with a bow & arrow simply because he can fire them really fast...While in open ground with little cover.
It's going to be pretty exciting to see Solomon Grundy in the show. And Merlyn's resurrection or whatever should be interesting too, I guess. But I'm going to miss Count Vertigo. His episodes last season were fantastic. I

Damn..so many developments. Loved Oliver killing again and with such ferocity. Glad they didn't go for the comicbook idiocity there, even if he's reformed there are still cases when he will be forced to kill.
Poor Slade on the island, guy got Two Face treatement. Malcolm being alive? Fuck year!
Also...loved how Brother Broot abided to a long proud superhero/supervillain tradition of having a cabined with his costume that he can stare at
Just to be clear, his healing factor is nowhere near as strong as like Wolverine or anything, he can't heal limbs, he just recovers faster then normal humans.
Yes, though it is not Wolverine-level healing. He recovers from injuries that would take weeks in days, months in weeks. Also I don't believe he can grow back anything and don't know if it increases the chances of something being reattached with proper surgery.
I actually assumed Merlin had survived at the end of Season 1, and was originally disappointing that he had when this season started. But GODDAMN if it wasn't all workth it for this ending. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!!!! So good!
That extra soap opera cheese was like the cherry on top!
I'm sad about the Count finally biting it. But he went out like a champ.
And Merlyn.
My mind is full of fuck right now, but it feels so goddamned good.
I know I've said before how much I hate comic book deaths and the stupid pointless resurrections, but man I would love it if they could find some insane but logical way to bring The Count back one last time to make Oliver's life a living hell. Then again, they did grant my last season wish of bringing Malcolm back... somehow.
MERLYN!
God, just crazy. Holy fuck, man. And Thea's his daughter? Goddammit, now Wozzly will never, ever finish it. Really puts the whole Tommy/Thea thing into perspective. And the creepy incest subtext in Season 1.
In any case, I digress.
Also, Laurel, oh my God, two steps forward, three steps back. That scene after her "trump card" moment with Oliver was all kinds of awful. "Why would you forgive me...?" That was all kinds of terrible. So weird.
Also, Ivo continues to be a horribly crazy yet interesting human being. Man, what the fuck is he cooking? And SLADE! His poor face. He looks like a fucking nightmare. Straight up Two-Face. Also, we gonna be seeing some Black Canary/Shado rivalry, hm? Maybe some angry, jealous feelings. Some fighting. Some mud. Maybe repressed lust.
Just saying.
Also, what... happens to the ADA now? Also, why was Alderman Blood in a meeting with the DA and Laurel? He has nothing to do with the justice system. He's just... there.
ALSO!
That ending. Blood's out for Arrow? Why? Solomon Grundy? Whoa.
I miss The Count already
But it's good to see The Arrow still has his edge.
That whole trial was a shame. I'm not a lawyer and even I can tell you there is no court in the Western world where any of that shit would fly.
Barry next week! Looks like
he'll somehow be involved with Brother Blood's storyline... but there's no way that that storyline is over this early in the season. Unless Brother Blood is dealt with here and R'as becomes the main villain of the second half of the season. Or Blood survives the two-parter encounter and comes back in the New Year.
Oh my God, guys. What if Brother Blood retrieves the Count's body and uses his insane formula on it and brings him back, but even more unhinged.
I always felt Gabel's Count was too over-the-top but it's too bad he's gone already. He could've been a recurring villain that shows up twice every season.
I almost squealed like a fangirl when Oliver held Felicity's hand.
Oh and I never hated Laurel before I entered this thread. Maybe she's so skinny because of her (character's) stress/drug usage?

I don't understand why she thought that her fling with Merlyn would "tear her family apart". I thought it was a pretty meh reveal, though I knew they'd parlay it into one of the Queen kids being his.
It's not like Papa Queen was the bastion of martial sanctity, and Oliver used to be quite the cad.
