It will be divided up between free users and premium members.

A free membership is so bare bones they might as well not even have it.

This is a black day for picture hosting... what other sites are there out there that are as good as photobucket and are free?

Not really too surprising. Anytime these sort of free hosting services crop up, it's either to get users hooked and then go pay service or they get abused bandwith-wise by enough people that they have to. I'm sure there's alot of people that were using Photobucket beyond the means stipulated in the free account's contract terms. Not any of you, mind you, but bad people...evil people. Oh well, good thing my ISP gives me 300MB of mostly unmoderated extremely fast server space to play around with.

Pfft, AIM gives AOL such as massive advertising base that I don't think it'd EVER go pay service. Thank the powers that be for DeadAIM...

bah, now i'm going to have to rehost my avatar
Bah, now I'm going to have to re-image block everyone's avatars again. :\

Heh, I remember hte first time someone showed me photobucket and how fast/easy/free it was I resisted signing up because I was sure it was going to go pay a day later. I did get a few months out of it, but I guess I'll go back to my ISP's webspace... but photobucket was just so much easier than opening a FTP client.
