Loving the graphics but I'm bored already after completing prologue. I think the feudal Japan setting wasn't as exciting as I was hoping for.

The game needs a patch, badly. I stroll into a camp of enemies that just stand around watching me, assassinate button pops up, and I assassinate 5 dudes, back to back, while they are looking at me, two of them rise from the dead and I assassinate them again. So bad. On Expert, btw, so this is as smart as they get.

Oh wow the weather actually affects the guards patrols, a thunderstorm broke out and they stopped patrolling to take shelter from the rain; bushes are also so much more lush and bigger in summer, making much easier to hide.

P.s. it's definiteyl not easy for all games or you would not have forums\reddit filled with people asking why their dlss4 doesn't work even after following the instructions.

After changing the game to balance mode, and reenable the motion blur, as well as changing some of my HDR settings in game, now the game looks much better.
On PlayStation five Pro as nice as having the 60 frames per second in performance mode is, the balance mode seems to make a noticeable difference to my eyeballs.

Now you got me confused, because you're saying graphically one the best Pro enhanced titles is comparable to a game that is pretty raw and outdated in terms of graphics.
Haven't played neither, but I've seen footage of both and I don't see how they are even comparable.
Yeah, if this looks like Rise of The Ronin on console, this game is even more hamstrung on console than I thought! It's night and day on PC. Rise looks like garbage compared to this game.

Goddamn, Ubisoft... No screenshot can do this game justice.
Gettin' a bit better at combat, but when you encounter a new enemy you haven't fought before, it's back to square one again. It's honestly impressive how different each enemy is when it comes to the way you need to deal with them, you'd think that spearman can't be that different than a regular samurai or a brute, but fuck no, there's even various samurai that fight way differently and a lot more deadly, using different tactics to take you down and stuff. I died like multiple times when regular bandits attacked me out of nowhere, they may look pathetic visually and way less threatening than armored enemies, but they can take you down just as easily. Sometimes it is better to just not go and fight cuz there's a lot of enemies and if you're playin' on the max difficulty and got used to how combat worked in previous games... oh, boy, you'll get your ass handed to you more times than you can admit. It may look simple, but it's anything but in reality, especially with zero HUD and various things that could help you visually track enemies etc. Simply astounding work they did here, my god.

Was about to post this! I never thought I'd be this fucked up about a Ubi game. I just want to be home to play it. I had to pull myself to the gym. Ghost of Yotei has some big shoes to fill and I'm so happy they will have to step it up!

Exactly the way I play.
I would love to death if they'd locked some abilities behind scrolls you need to find in the world and learn them that way like in Sekiro, but alas, you can unlock them via skills menu. It's not a big deal, I just think that they should've gone a bit further with immersion.

It was the performance mode for me that didn't do it justice.
Now playing on balanced and it made a major difference to my eyeballs.
Plus I'm out in the open world now so I can enjoy the wind, the weather, etc.

Nah, Shadows is absolutely gorgeous on Series X in quality mode; the RTGI implementation is on full bore here. The PC version obviously is just a step beyond, if you have the hardware to leverage it.
As an aside: So I'm loving this game thus far? Probably the best opening to an AC game since Odyssey, and afterwards has just been incredibly fun. I know it's popular to dumpster on this game, but it's greatly finding enjoyment within me so far. Oh, and the Japanese dub is all but required here; the VAs are killing it. I won't be touching the English dub whatsoever lol.

I'm playing a Ubisoft game, let alone Assassin's Creed, and having a genunine non-stop fun. The combat and stealth is a blast, the world is beautiful and minor bugs are there to humour me from time to time.
Why is it so good and enjoying? Why? The idea was that I will kinda hate-play through it, not dedicate my KCD2 time to an AC title.
Maybe Shadows won't save Ubisoft, but hell, so far it's a very good point to end your publishing jorney on.

Man what the hell is up with DLSS / Frame Gen. Sometimes the game has it as an option and other times it just disappears. I had to restart my game like 4 times for it to come back.

I forced DLSS4 and am now getting 80+ fps constantly with everything on high DLSS quality.
I do find it weird there is no way to have the game display Dual sense controls or I'm blind. Control reminders are turned off now, so it doesn't matter to me, just found it odd

Ok no guaranteed assassinations isn't so bad considering you can still grab > KO, it's just slower.

I would say Quality if you can live with 30fps. The RTGI is too transformative to not play the game with it on.

Not an overcorrection at all, if you are good at stealth you should be rewarded with the kills.
It also makes it feel more oldschool AC which is good
