Has there been any mentioning of how the parlour is in this game considering that we don't have dense urban areas? I really miss the original AC settings in the Mid-East and Europe for this reason. Shadows seems to focus on villages and large open areas. How does this impact gameplay?

Been playing for a while now. Parkour is really just "functional". It's not really a highlight or key aspect so far. It feels smoother compared to the other RPG titles, largely due to Naoe's animations, but overall it's nowhere near the classic games. The closest game to the classic ones that we have today is Mirage, which is largely due to the setting and smart city design they had for Baghdad as you already know. Can't have that here. The layout simply doesn't allow it.

If it's any consolation, stealth is really good, atleast on expert difficulty. I don't think I've had this much fun doing stealth in an AC game before, hell, I barely even used it. Definitely the highlight for me so far, I've already done like 3 castles or something.
The intro is loooooooooong
God, tell me about it. I'm around 5 hours in, and I don't think AC was ever *this* slow. The story and the overall delivery is a slog. It feels like there's tons of talking without anything of substance being said. Hope that changes when the story kicks into the next gear or something.

Is there a way to customise the difficulty so that I can have this element of stealth, but ease up on the combat, for example? Maybe share a screenshot of these options if possible?

The fact Naoe cannot climb some higher walls or rocks is absolutely retarded. This isnt Assassins Creed.

Also why can I not make the HUD dynamic? All these options to customize it but dynamic hud isnt an option?

Guys, should I play this on PC or PS5 Pro? I'm interested in RT mainly. PC is a 4070 Super.

Before I commit, can I only play as the lady and ignore the dude? Is the stealth actually good? I hear they added some old Splinter Cell mechanics like visibility and light meter.

internet says this trick works only on the Xbox? Am I missing something here?

It works on Ubisoft connect as well. I followed this:

I was able to get it to work this morning. I did the following:

  1. Ensure Ubisoft Connect is fully closed
  2. Connect to New Zealand using a VPN (I use ExpressVPN, people have been having issues using NordVPN)
  3. Launch Ubisoft Connect and go into AC: Shadows
  4. Click the cog next to Additional Settings >> Add shortcut to desktop
  5. Launch game using the shortcut

Without a doubt, PC. I run everything Max settings on my 4090, you could easily turn down a few settings even a notch and it should run great on your 4070 Super. No reason to play it on Pro if you have a decent PC.

Thanks man, that's how I was leaning. I can also use Ubisoft+ to finish it in a month!

Don't think so. I paid for a month of Ubisoft+ just to compare versions. Playing early may not be worth it though. Without the day one patch, it has crashed once already. So...we will see how it goes.

Finished the prologue. Want to kick the grifter haters in the balls for starting the war against this game, but they don't have any so…

Why would using a VPN not give you the day 1 patch? The system thinks the game is legitimately out for you so it should download.

Straight up just saying. It REALLY feels better with both difficulties on the highest once you come to grips with the game. In particular how the stealth becomes more essential and how you can find ways to play against each characters type.

Ah.....good point. Maybe it had the patch already with initial download.

Edit: I wonder if it has to do with the fact that I cannot start the game from within UC. I have to launch it from a desktop shortcut for it to work.

Man...this game looks good. Already crashed twice though. Don't think it is patched.

Got ~50 fps average with default detected settings (that's the yellow line), switched the res from UHD to 1440p and it settled on 60fps average, looking only a tad more fuzzy, so I guess that's fine; obv could've turned on framegen but I'd rather not if I don't have to.

Day 1 update is not out yet?
The in-game patch notes mention nothing of a patch so I don't think so.

Edit:
Really interesting that this game is the start of the ac infinity "cod style" launcher, since all games are on the main screen.

Went ahead and ordered it. Everything i've read sounds great.

- Removed the bloat of Valhalla
- Visually amazing
- Decent story
- Way better to play than the other 3 RPG Ass Cred games
- Guaranteed stealth kill option

Not that it's saying much but this probably is going to be Ubisoft's best game in years.
