Almost the same as X800 teasers with Ruby.

Can you prevent human extermination with a crowbar, build crazy coasters, and dominate wars?

Soon, you will

Its official, euro site leaks the goods!!!!

Apparently there are TWO 6800 GT killers. The X800 XL GT killer, and the X850 XT upper gt killer. The X850 XT PE is apparently about 500 USD. Should be interesting to see the price of the X800 XL.

Could this be the introduction of their motherboard chipset design, their SLI design, or something different?

I've heard the x850 going retail in December or something, I reckon it has something to do with that

The 850 Pro is still gonna be weak.

Need to see some 850XT benches.

Does this mean the X800Xt may finally go down in price?

Shouldn't be a problem to make them disappear as they are still hard to find. I'm curious about the price of the X800 XL though.

They need to start finding new ways of naming these things....

Radeon X850 XT PE, Radeon X800 XL, ????!!!!.....seriously.....WTF

where can i preorder the x850xt? If they have the same problems with getting their cards into the stores like with x800xt, I need to preorder 6 months in advance you know :lol

So these arent the AGP cards?

/me kicks up dirt

I'm so with you on this one. The first promise with these cards was that they would be in good supply because of better yields etc. The X800 XT PCIe had no availability problems, least not as bad as the AGP counterparts. The AGP cards, such as the X800 XT PE, were where the real availability problems were, the AGP cards were practically impossible to get.

This does nothing to solve the availability problems at all. The AGP cards were the ones in high demand, not the PCIe.

This can only lead to more crappy news. The X700’s are supposed to make it in AGP form in early 2005 with ATI’s new bridge chip. If these new cards follow the same trend, then ATI really screwed over their most customers/fans (putting my bets on AGP). Because this pretty much means that when the R5XX is launched along with its promises, it will be PCIe first and the AGP version won’t be available till the second half of 2005.

Why would ATI release an AGP version of the R430 and R480 line up next year and then the R5XX AGP line up in May? Only two things could happen about now. Either they don’t release AGP versions of the refreshes or they do. If they do, that means AGP owners will get shafted the time the R5XX arrives for sure. Even if they don’t, it can still happen, the R5XX will be available in PCIe form only since the X700 AGP versions are close to the R5XX launch. (Thus would kill their X700 AGP sales.)

I’m tempted (Lack of numbers at the moment) to say that AGP accounts for a higher install base then PCIe, and that the AGP X800 series were in higher demand but no numbers at the moment. The only reason I can think ATI would be screwing their AGP customers would be to please their OEM customers. Just like last time.

That looks like the case so far....Maybe I should criticize since my next upgrade won't be till next spring and I was skipping these refreshes entirely. But what the heck, this might come back later to screw me over.

Hee hee, first time I use this..
