I could maybe understand this comment from the uninformed, but whoever's running Atlus's twitter account doesn't give the game enough credit. Next to Persona 4, I honestly think Catherine may be my favorite story by Atlus. There is an element of sexiness to it, but I never thought it was handled really perverted, or immature. If anything I'd say it's actually handled very mature, and meant for "mature audiences" for more sophisticated reasons. It's such a unique game in that it tackles the subject of commitment and relationships in a way I've never seen in a video game before. It kinda handles them in fantastical ways, but it still has characters written who feel very real.
Even the Full Body version caught me off guard with how well it handled certain things in the new content. Spoilers:
The third love interest they added for the game, Rin, for those who may not know is not quite a woman. She's not a traditional transgender character either, because she's technically an alien, but I think it's pretty much established that she is a very feminine male. There is a moment long after Vincent and Rin get close where he comes in on her unconscious in the shower, and sees her naked, and discovers she has a penis. This shocks Vincent to the point that he slaps her hand away and says to not touch him. This hurts Rins feelings and she runs away. The game is about choice, so the outcome depends on you the player, but regardless if you pursue Rin or not, Vincent feels terrible for how he reacted to her anatomy. And if you do wish to pursue Rin, you do every thing you can to get her back, and don't care what she is on the outside he just loves her. It's so weird, but even as a straight man, I found Vincent's writing in this scenario to be very sweet and kind of him. Made me root for their relationship almost more than the other two.
Anyway, my point is that just because a game has sex, or sexy elements in it, doesn't automatically equal = this game is meant for perverts. That's such a dismissive way to look at it, and if anything, the people who would say that I think are the ones who need to grow up.
