Atomfall | Official Gameplay Overview Trailer

Not saying you're wrong, developers have changed engines before even after years of using in-house stuff, but it still looks uncannily similar to UE5.
The lighting, assets and vegetation, especially interiors coming from STALKER 2 looks very similar to me. UI, font as well. Eh. Dunno.
What does look similar to ue5 games? The game looks way uglier, the characters are extremely outdated and the granular level of detail of the best ue5 games is nowhere to be seen...
What the actual issue is: Stock assets and lighting usage

What everyone keeps blaming this problem on with most games: The engine itself.

This moment is a perfect example of what I mean because the blame was quickly and needlessly put on Unreal Engine.

Definitely day 1, on Game Pass.
But to be fair this is the type of game I’d probably buy anyway or at least within a couple of months.

Looks like my kind of game, very much Fallout vibes.

If its good, i hope it does well for Rebellion as i feel they may need it. Sniper Elite 5 did poor compared to 4. Strange Brigade flopped (remember than one?). And Zombie Army 4 just did decent.
I think they might need a hit, and it looks to me like they are counting on this game doing well judging from the quality of the graphics in this, very good by Rebellion standards.

I'll try on Gamepass but i feel i will probably end up buying this on Steam too.

Looks like shades of Atomic Heart, Metro, a few others. I think it'll be a comfort food game. Meaning it won't blow you away, but it'll be a nice relaxing game to play between big hit titles. I could actually really go for a game like this right now.

It looks pretty cool but i feel there are too many games like that lately. Especially tied to Xbox.

New trailer. My hype for it died honestly. It looks like the British STALKER 2. I was expecting more of an immersive sim. Seems like all UE5 games(edit: assuming they changed from their own) from smaller/AA studios are samey, as this looks exactly the same as STALKER 2 visually. If you told anyone this is from Stalker 2 they would agree. Even down to the god damn font and radar lmao. Atom left, stalker right.

Im sure some of you will love this tho.

I 1 million percent agree with you. I was in, but now I'm OUT!

I getting more of a feeling of We Happy Few, but with better combat, can't compare this to Fallout, not in setting and the fact it seems you will be low on bullets unlike Fallout that give you a bazillion ammo, also don't see any resemblance to Stalker.

I think you should watch some more footage whem the game is out, i doubt it's gonna look and play like a stalker, more like a bootleg fallout imo.

I thought the game would have more.........flair and artistry. It feels like a "me too" clone. Where's the life in this game?

The menu system looks straight out of Days Gone.

Feels like the game is very Days Gone w/o the hoards (unless I missed that.)

Looks fun enough to me, I generally like this style of game.

People always make such superficial comparisons to Bethesda RPGs, when the way the RPG / mission system works is nowhere close (let alone the object persistence and the like.)

Those long posts don't cover that red neck boy
Going to get this because Rebellion has the balls to release a pretty AA game on last-gen consoles. Since i still rock a PS4 Pro and i like this kind of stuff, its a purchase, even as a collectable.

Looks nothing like Asura Engine to me. There is no official info I can find tho.
It looks exactly like Asura Engine to me given titles like Strange Brigade and the Sniper games. The way materials and lighting are done (It looks a bit grungy, if you ask me) is very similar across the recent games. It makes Atomfall look dated but also it looks like a game and not like it is pursuing hyperrealism or next-gen visuals. It looks pretty enough.

If anything else, i thought this looked more like Raid World War 2 and the Diesel 2.0 Engine.
Not saying you're wrong, developers have changed engines before even after years of using in-house stuff, but it still looks uncannily similar to UE5. Will see.
There is 0 announcement of that. It just looks like Stalker 2 because all Stalker-clones have that grey, drab, muddy wasteland look. If anything it doesn't look like UE5 because Stalker 2's materials are far stronger, as is its lighting.

Don't act like your tag please.
