When I inform your customer service rep that I've moved and will need the laptop picked up from a new address, that does not mean delivering it to my old address once it's been serviced. Seriously, I don't think it's that hard to comprehend.

Thank you.

One of these days people need to realize that they need to take matters into their own hands to get things done...

On a similar note, Gateway shipped my father's refurbed laptop back a couple of months late... to some random guy. Just some dude.

Dell isn't here man, I would suggest calling to complain or something. We here at GAF really can't do all that much.
But this is so much easier than waiting on hold for an hour, plus it yields the same results.

When half of them don't speak english it is. Seriously, I'm never getting another laptop from Dell ever. I don't want to talk to some person in India when I'm having problems...I like to understand the person I'm talking to, thanks.

I recently had the same issue twice with Dell (sound card suddenly not working), and both times I was left with the desire to go elsewhere when I purchase my next laptop.

I spent more time on the phone spelling words out and talking s-l-o-w-l-y than I did actually describing my issue and having it resolved.

The bottom line is this: It's not only important to be able to speak English, but it's important to speak conversational English. Dell doesn't get it that cutting costs like that will eventually drive away return business. My last 4 computers have been Dell, and I think they will be the last from Dell.

uh HP, Toshiba, IBM, and even Microsoft use techs in India also...

If you don't want to deal with india techs, then just use Dell's e-mail support.

what's your customer# or service tag? i can fix it for you.
While I appreciate the offer, I've already driven back and picked up the laptop. Needed it ASAP for some projects, just wish I didn't have to drive 2+ hours to get the system, especially since it was picked up from my apartment.

We've been getting orders being sent all over the country at random and wrong parts coming in... on our corporate account.

Dell hires slack-jawed monkeys for their tech support, even in their Americas locations. I hated even transferring customers to the proper phone queues - I knew they were going to get a moron or land in India.

Buy Apple.

They won't fall apart on you, and as far as I know, Apple doesn't use overseas techs. You will need to buy Applecare though - even if the machine it's as likely to break as a Dell, it's just good sense to have it.

Funny so does Apple. Actually they do fall apart. Apple uses stupid American hired techs who think they know what they're doing. You really have to badger them to fix what you want them to fix. Applecare doesn't cover wear and tear so it's pretty much worthless. This from a happy powerbook owner.

Amazon.com started using outsourced phone customer support but seemingly stopped after myself, and I'm sure numerous others, complained.
