I'm kind of annoyed that I banged up my tablet, dropping it on a concrete surface from about 2 feet while moving in this semester. Although it still works fine, the bottom surface feels a little bit loose. Additionally, for some reason when I place it flatly on my desk under my monitor, the cursor will be a bit shaky without me moving it. I can place it on a book farther away without it happening, so I'm hoping that perhaps being so close to the monitor or speakers causes it. Anyway, I'm still using 7, and evidently not doing a very good job of it. No matter what I post in any art thread, it's as if people try to ignore it.

Yeah, I know, but as I remember my, ehh...version *cough* wouldn't let me update. I remember they made it work at some point, but...hah. Thanks!

6>7. Seriously. 7 sucks.

What's so good about Painter 9?

Speed of Painter 6 with features of Painter 8 and more. Simple as that.

Water colors with Painter 7 and 8 was slow as molasses (corel made them more complex, so speed took a dump). Now, you get the complexity of 7 and 8 while getting the speed of 6. Everything else seems like it's sped up to 6 speeds with 9.

Also, awesome new features like stroke to paths! Every industrial designer have been dying for this one.

Played with it today at work, very nice. They really optimized the brush engine. A couple of things that i like so far:

Alt key picks up color from the mixer which btw has improved greatly

Old brush control is back, never liked the Brush creator

New oil paints seem very powerful but i need to get used to them

Things i dont like:

The price, i ordered 8 a few months ago, i hate upgrading :(
