Attention ATI users - RadeonPro BETA: The answer to Nhancer?

Just found this, thought it might be of interest to users of ATI graphics cards here:

A few days ago I've started a new tool to automate the 3D settings (AA/AF/Vsync/Catalyst AI/etc.) based on game being started, I think it's very annoying dealing with CCC profiles and shortcuts, not to mention that settings won't be restored after the game is ended.

The idea is pretty straightforward: You configure all 3D settings (AA/AF/Catalyst AI/etc.) and save all those settings as a profile for a particular game, when the corresponding game is started the profile is automatically loaded. As soon the games finishes the previous settings are restored.

If you're an ATi Tray Tools user and already uses the automated profiles you won't need this tool, unless you want to mess with MVPUModes and other limited tweaks like showing CrossfireX logo on screen, remembering that those settings are per game settings.

I'm planning other tweaks and so, I would be glad if you try it and give me some feedback and suggestions on how to make RadeonPro better.

The new RC1 have an installer, just download and open the downloaded file to install the program.

You'll need Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Runtime and Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0. If you have Catalyst Control Center installed they're already on your system.
As the title implies, this tool is still in testing and may have some bugs, please use it at your own risk.

All reported bugs wil be verified and fixed as soon as possible.

As you can see, its still in BETA so you may come across some problems here and there but its worth a try for you ATI users.

I think it's just a CCC profile management tool. It doesn't look like it forces any more types of AA than CCC already does.

the feature I would want mainly is the ability to define what predefined AA hack an exe follows. that's what I use nhancer for.

I don't think ati has ever had hidden AA modes in drivers like nvidia. Believe me I sorely miss SSAA too. I'll take this game profile manager though. Before we could only do this through ATT and I don't want to have that running all the time.

Edit: Wait a sec how does it have a 'show fps' feature. This has something always running in the background too doesn't it. Dammit.

It seems to be possible to force SSAA through CCC if you do a registry change, but apparently it only works on OpenGL games, and I didn't really know of any OpenGL games I had lying around to try it with. I'm assuming the Valve OpenGL ports are only available for Mac, not Windows. :(

Insane For Sony
Is it possible to control overclock settings from game to game basis using this? I don't care as much about performance improvements with some games so I want to keep the gpu cooler if possible, using lower clock settings.

It might be an exaggeration to say this works like nHancer, at best this tool brings the configurability up to the base configurability provided by the default Nvidia Control Panel. What nHancer does is pretty crazy by comparison. :lol

Also, judging from this comment I would say that ATI doesn't care about SSAA anymore and has no respect for it even though Nvidia has accidentally found a way to use SSAA to make TRAA work in DX10/11 titles where ATI can't make it work now or ever. Calling it "faux-AA" is pretty hilarious to me since SSAA was the "original" version of AA back in the Dark Ages of the 1990's or so, MSAA was invented later on after SSAA. So if you want SSAA, it's time to buy Nvidia. :lol

edit: That whole thread the post is in is quite the eye-opener, I had no idea the ATI owners had it so bad with basic things like controlling AA and Vsync. If I blew $400+ on a videocard and the base drivers couldn't even let me force AA/Vsync on many games, I would have shat a brick and returned the videocard the very next day. It amazes me what the ATI owners put up with to remain loyal to Team Rocket Red. :lol

I don't think I have found a game that D3DOverrider won't let me force vsync+triple buffering with, so that makes up for CCC vsync force presumably not working. AA is another matter, though I only really know of AA-forcing not working with FUEL and maybe Borderlands (you may be able to force it on Borderlands, and FUEL doesn't even work with nVidia cards as far as I know). At any rate, ATI Tray Tools gives lots of options, more than CCC I believe.

ATi has been awesome in price to performance. Also the hdmi dongles in the 4xxx series was awesome, it output everything in 16-235 black levels. Both sides have hdmi ports now though.
