My GF works as a psych nurse at various hospitals. They get loads of patients who are straight up scooters ding bat crazy. One time this 90lb soaking wet girl took 2 big cops, 2 security guards, an army of nurses and 30 minutes to finally get restrained.

Demon Possesion...no. Mental illness and force of will...yes.

We've used ghosts and goblins to explain shit for so long. My GF tells me of all sorts of people who believe George Bush talks to them. Why do they think that? Because its part of their frame of reference. Tell a mentally ill person about God and Demons and when they have their psychotic episode they'll use that as their platform.

The DVD of the series is out. So I'm pretty sure there is a BT....somewhere....out there... ( I honestly don't know). The series itself is a bit uneven IMO 1,3,4,7,8 are great- if you can find the BT. Knowing SBS they might replay it :lol

I think that was from John Safran's Musical Jambaroee where he goes back to his orthodox Jewish primary school and rebels against the the religious fraternity ala Kevin Bacon in Footloose (or whatever it was called).

Uhm, there's a difference between following a religion and actually believing that there are demons out there. Most Christians don't believe 100% of what's in the bible. See: evolution.

As much as fundies would have you believe there's no room for it, it's not that hard to read genesis and come out with an interpretation of evolution, but let's not get into that debate.

I didn't say anything about 100%, but all Christians believe in God and Christ, therefore a belief in angels and demons follows pretty naturally. Seeing as how we don't believe that we're the only intelligent beings he created. Not that I'm saying this excorcism is real or anything, but if someone believes Jesus existed, and believes the stories about him, they probably believe the stories about him casting out demons. Otherwise a belief in Jesus would be pointless since according to the stories that's exactly what he came to save us from. The evolution argument is a drum that's beaten way too often around here, so let's not get on that again. :/

ON TOPIC: Ghost hunters are awesome. I have like a hour of recordings on my computer from different ghost hunting trips. My favorites are...

There's a man and a woman in a bedroom talking. Suddenly, the woman asks, "Did you pull down that sheet?" the man responds, "No." There's a brief pause, and then you hear the voice of a little grl say, "I did."

CREEEEEEEEPY.

Another fucking scary one is a deep, gruff voice saying, "Follow...the death gate..."

Apparently the Bacara Bar and Hotel in my town is built on an Indian graveyard (the most evil kind!!!11!) and there are shit tons of ghost sightings. A friend of mine works there, and we've been organizing an expidition for a while now. Every Friday night around 4am, a woman dressed in "Indian clothing" walks down one of the hallways, through a room and out onto a balcony, where she then throws herself off and dissapears.

Up in the Sierra-Nevada mountains in Northern California along HWY 50 on the way to Tahoe are a bunch of towns whos origins date back to the gold rush days. There's this old hotel there that's seriously haunted big time. They used to give tours of it, but I don't know if they still do.
