Really? I thought Japanese wrestling still wasn't making much money, and is there any British wrestling that's on TV?
Japanese wrestling (well, New Japan) are not only making money, but are seeing consistent growth each year since Bushiroad purchased the promotion. To say they've turned round their fortunes would be an understatement and, with a lot of cross-promotion between New Japan and Bushiroad's trading card game properties, they're attracting a younger audience to wrestling again after Inoki-madness and MMA shite drove them away.
As for British wrestling, there's a bi-weekly round-up show that airs after TNA and highlights matches and news from promotions across the country, but no major presence as of yet. That could change, however, with promotions like PROGRESS, ICW & PCW regularly attracting larger audiences than US indies and some recent mainstream focus with the ICW documentary (which is getting a sequel) being seen by over 1 million viewers on the BBC.
