I won't be getting the newly released MGS4/PS3 bundle until sometime in August so I was was wondering how long will that bundle be available until its discontinued?

Uhm, don't put too much weight into what I say - but I heard there will pretty much be no more shipments. I mean there might be one or two here or there as warehouses send their last amounts, but then after that there will be no more.

Heard that from the Sony rep that comes in, he said that's what he was told from his boss who heard it during a conference call. So there's also a chance there's a broken telephone situation going on here. And not to speak ill of the dude, as he's cool, but he can be misinformed by his bosses a LOT, probably to prevent him from telling people stuff they don't want anyone to know. So take it as you will.

that bundle is pretty expensive for them, so i doubt they'll be continuing it.

The 80-GB MGS4 PS3 bundle should be replenished. It's the 40-GB MGS4 PS3's that are very limited and exclusive to Konami here in the US.
