Avatar Frontiers of Pandora update coming this December (3rd person mode, NG+)

I played the trial and wasn't into it. 3rd person could radically change that though. I'll get it on sale for sure. Like $15 and I'm in.

Sounds like the 4th and 5th movies are a longshot at this point, for what it's worth.

Jim is 71 years old. Most likely, another director will handle the fourth and fifth films, unless Jim been sent from the future to stop any other filmmaker from making a new Avatar movie.

I could tolerate the first Avatar, 2nd didn't do much for me. I'd really like to see him work on something different than Avatar.

I've played for about two hours today, and the third-person view feels much better. I originally bought the game just for the graphics, but I'm starting to actually enjoy it. I'm playing on an RTX 5090 and an 83G5 that I got two weeks ago, and the colors are absolutely stunning.

I was craving a third-person adventure game on PC, and here it is.

A little janky, but I can't really complain. It was always an insane design choice not to let us view our character when there is so much customization and being a big blue doofus is one of the key selling points.

I skipped basically every opening cutscene and powered through the tutorial, which still wasted about 30 minutes of my life. Otherwise, yeah, not exactly the most challenging or tightest combat in the world, but a decent enough change of pace.

A DLL swap enables XeSS-FG/XeLL on my 3080, so with everything on high I am getting around 140–150 fps and it looks great.

I can understand why it did not get much attention at launch, but in its current state, for $20 with the new expansion, I will be happy even if I just get 20–30 hours out of it.

Hearing very mixed things.

Some saying it's great and completely changes the game.

Other saying the animations suffer heavily and that combat is far off what it is in first person.
