What happened to Thanos? Wasn't it him at the end of Avengers 1 though?
Not that Ultron isn't awesome.
They're not gonna blow their load with thanos in only the second movie!

And his ability to control other machines and transfer his mind into other bodies. I feel like those are going to be more significant than his speed and strength to how they'll handle him in the movie.
-Adamantium plated armor, self-repair capabilities
-Superhuman strength, speed, stamina, reflexes
-Powerful concussive energy blasts and an "encephelo-ray" strong enough to induce a coma or mind-control effects
-Genius-level intellect, highly creative and deceptive.
He started as just a robot but became much, much more. He can lay the smackdown on the Avengers for sure.
Not sure they can mention adamantium, not that it really matters. He'll be sufficiently hard to beat either way.
If they have another mind controlled hero plot with Ultron for Avengers 2 I'm going to roll my eyes.

LOL, that's what you think.Adamantium is not exclusive to Xmen, or any Marvel property. It's in tons of other fiction, it's generic. Would be like saying they couldn't include Pizza in the next Iron Man because it featured heavily in Spiderman 2. If they can share Quicksilver and Scarlett Witch I strongly doubt the lawyers are going to bat an eyelash over something that isn't even trademarked and is used in literally hundreds of other fictional works including ones predating marvel.
Most likely since Vision is in this and Ultron creates Vision...which means he's basically under Ultrons control until the Vision rebels. Or something like that.
I mean loki style where he turns a couple of good guys to his side so they have an excuse to get avengers fighting on screen.
Hank Pym isnt established in the universe yet, why the fuck would you want Ultron now?
This is my only problem with the movie so far.Pym won't be Ultron's creator in the MCU - he is apparently a product of superstar scientist extraordinaire Tony Stark.

Could be SHIELD using Stark tech, since they're super shady. Heck, they could say he is a SHIELD creation and reveal in the Ant-Man film that it was originally Pym's idea.
Considering that Marvel has been stating that Captain America: The Winter Soldier will directly lead into Avengers 2, I have to agree that SHIELD will be the creator of Ultron, as a part of their shadowy agenda.
I thought I was beyond teaser trailers that basically revealed nothing and were mostly composed of recycled material.
But the Avengers 2 reveal was mad fucking hype. That build up. That moment when you are not entirely sure what's going to be the main plot point. Then it bursts out, and that droning sound creates the ultimate crescendo.
Thanos is the ultimate endgame villain. Thor 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy are already slowly building things up.

I'm not saying it's the Avengers.
But it's the Avengers.
good shit, will spider-man be in it?
quick answer, no, never. accept it. :'(
Not never, but certainly not in Avengers 2 barring some major surprise cameo.
If something was going to happen, I suspect it would be in Avengers 3. Given the power of the Infinity Gems, it would also provide a story reason for connecting the universes beyond simply "oh hey, yeah Spider-man was around we just never mentioned him before...."
They wanted to show OSCORP Tower in Avengers 1 but couldn't get the cross-licensing agreement worked out in time. It's not impossible I suppose.
Just in time to add a trailer after GotG.
I imagine they'll let Iron Man cool off after RDJ is done and eventually get a new Stark. They've done it already in the MCU, and once a few Avengers are replaced (besides Hulk), people will be used to the idea. It would be a rough transition but really no different from waiting a few years before getting a new Batman or Superman.
Yeah after Avengers 3 is probably when they will cycle in/out team members (or form the New Avengers team with those that stay on) and recast when the retired characters' next solo films come up in Phase 4 or 5.

Kill off Stark in the fight with Thanos.
Wait a few movies for people to miss him.
Have Pym/T'Challa/Whoever else create a machine that can reach into alternate dimensions
Grab Stark from another dimension.
It'll give them a good reason to kill off someone memorable in Avengers 3, and the new actor doesn't have to look exactly like RDJ because he's from a different dimension.

Perfect excuse for that Iron Man/GotG team up. They wanted a cameo in the movie anyway, why not make a team up movie with random characters if Marvel movies are still popular by the time they run through every character they want to put in the universe? What if that dimension they pull Stark from needs him?
I kind of want the team to get turned into stone in one of these movies. Comics Cap saved the team from that the day he was unfrozen. They will NEVER kill Stark. Won't happen. Even if RDJ is a major factor, he's become an incredibly popular character and they always need to have him available to bring back. After Avengers 3 they will probably retire Tony to cameo and supporting roles in films and re-cast when the time is right for Iron Man 4.
If any Avenger is going to die,I suspect it will be Thor since they have Valhalla as a relatively easy to understand and not-too-cheap explanation for how he could come back. If Thor 3 is supposed to follow the Ragnarok arc I would expect it to happen there.

Today Marvel-Freshman of Comic Book Movie got our first vague scene description from the set of The Avengers sequel! According to their source named Irfaan Ebrahim Hulk is the main focas of the first 10 minutes of the film:
“I could see some sort of action scene where Hulk was battling someone but not too sure who was it. I could make it out clearly because they use a huge green head whenever they're filming Hulk scenes. …They used a guy dressed normally but had on a backpack with 2 iron poles holding up hulk's chest upwards and then he was doing whatever he had to do… scaring the people. By the looks of it, Hulk will probably play a major role in the Johannesburg shoot.”
He also goes onto say that many extras flee from the hulk, cars are smashed ...while all of this takes place in the opening action sequence of the film.
