Don't wanna get too livejournal-y, but having an awesome job rules.

What was everyone's favorite/least horrible job/job experience?

Go.

I'm pretty fond of this unemployed thing I've got going on right now. I sleep in, wake up and eat some cereal, spend most of the day in my bathrobe while ****ing around on the laptop in front of the tv. Rinse and repeat!

Even though I lost my title I've still got my paycheck, still high level network responsibilities(with no management related headaches now), and still work 7 min from home.

Life is good.

Working with no boss peering over your shoulder and no one to answer to rocks. Working from home whenever I want/need to rocks as well.

I've never had a terrible job, I've loved every single one I've ever had.

1. Little League Umpire -- No better way to spend spring/summer in high school than to get paid to be out on the diamond.
2. Roofer Grade B -- Spent three summers in college working for Boeing on their summer roofing crew. Absolutely awesome summer job, making $18/hour and overtime every other weekend (1.5x pay on Saturday, 2x pay on Sundays, and 3x on July 4th and Labor Day).
3. Administrative Assistant -- Worked in the IT Outsourcing branch of a large insurance company in Seattle for two summers during graduate school. Working with the CEO/CIO as well as technical writers gave me a nice glimpse of the business world.
4. School Psychologist -- Current job which I plan to have until I retire. I come to work everyday excited about working with children and trying to be a positive agent of change. I couldn't ask for a better job.

One of the greatest experiences I've ever had was when working for a client that asked us to pack a Linux distro.I enjoyed it a lot :)

My best job... Hmmm... I guess when I worked part time at Kenneth Cole (Pentagon City). I made soooooo muc h money (legit and not so legit) and the pussy was overwhelming. One of the best parts of the job were watching Sybil and Stephanie climb the wall to get shoes on the upper shelves...

They were allergic to panties it seemed.

My current job is pretty sweet, but I may be leaving soon...

Worst job - Freshman year in college, I worked at Burger King for a few weeks. That shit sucked.

I was going to ask for an update...which you just provided.

Wasn't you the one that phoned for pizzas and then attacked the guys bringing them ? My memory may fail me...it was a gaffer for sure.

I find working from home insular and dull. Much better working in a office environment in the city..etc. Things to see and buy.. whatnot.

I'm in this situation right now. It was fun the first two weeks, but I hate it! I want money!

I'm waiting on some jobs that I applied for and applying for more.

People who enjoy working at home are antisocial in my books. Of course I can't work at home in my line of work.

I love my current job as a recruiter/internship manager at my company. It rocks working with college students who are trying to get their first opportunity.

worst job - I'd say either working in corporate benefits as a benefits analyst at an oil company or cleaning up after sex crazed kids in the movie theatre. . .

working from home kicks ass.

doesn't matter what you do.

I've been doing that for a while now, and it kinda sucks. I'd feel more productive if I was going into an office every day, honestly. It just grinds on you after a while, and it's hard to find the motivation to get out of your bed and plop into a chair in your boxers, as grand of a proposition as that sounds on paper.

See, the trick is to make it by design. I've saved up enough money that I can live comfortably for months, not so comfortably for half a year, and if need be scrape by for maybe 9 months.

It'll probably end up being just months, though, as I start travelling tomorrow. That shit eats up the cash pretty quick.
