They are a bit ugly...and I think the DS without a case is pretty durable...but even so, it might be useful for people with larger hands. It looks like it has some grips built in.

That being said, I certainly won't be buying one.

Indeed.

On the other hand, I bet it's more comfortable to play with the grips on the back. I hope someone does a more respectable looking slipcase -- it might make GBA games actually playable.
 
They look like something the Power Rangers would carry around.
 
Looks like they made the triggers easier to use, and made it have a real grip to hold onto...that's a plus.

But the transformer picture is pretty truthful.
