Previous generations had some amazing platformers that will never see the light of day again :(

Bring back Gex

Didn't that have around four sequels?

Anyway, I nominate Ristar, though I wouldn't trust modern-day Sega to do it justice.

I wouldn't say no to another 2D pixel Duke Nukem, or Turrican. Emphasis on Pixel art though, nothing above 640x480 and 256-1024 unique colours.

Thankfully Giana Sisters got a very nice sequel on the DS recently, which is more than I ever dared to hope for.

Gex 2 was awesome.

Anyway, I'm going to go way out there and say Haven. Pre-Lego Star Wars, Travelers' Tales actually tried a new IP which spectactularly bombed. It was a little rough in some parts, but there was a lot of variety in level and world design and the game served up a solid challenge. One of the most forgotten PS2 games that could have used a little more love.

Platformers that need sequels:

- Rayman
- Space Station Silicon Valley
- Glover
- Rocket - Robot on Wheels
- Starshot
- Mischief Makers
- Mr Nutz

Also, Toe Jam and Earl's outing on the Xbox was considered the worst in the series, and will likely be the last.

Nobody's said Psychonauts yet? Of course, if a sequel was to be made, it would have to have Tim Schafer involved.

ding! ding! we have a winner.

seriously, the game itself wasn't amazing, but the sequel would be if the team were still around.

i'm gonna also throw out Goonies 2.

Fury of the Furries (if it counts as platformer).
Was Pac-in-Time a rebranding of this or was it an actual new game built on the same engine? If it's the latter that could (just about) constitute a sequel.

Wanted: Monty Mole
Auf Wiedersehen Monty
Moley Christmas (okay, not *quite*)
Impossamole

Not enough for you?
No. Not enough. None of them were as good as MotR. Although I enjoyed Auf Wiedersehen Monty.

I want a brand new XBLA/PSN Monty Mole. Or else.

Unfortunately Atari/Infogrames has the rights. They fucking ruined Gremlin Graphics :/

what does 'rhetorical' mean?
Yeah, don't worry, I saw what you did. CoolSpot was SHIT.

not quite "awesome" but a beautiful and solid game which thankfully rejected RARE's usual collectathon craziness, a sequel could be awesome if they made one
