Haven't spoken about it in awhile and wanted to give folks an updated. Our due date was Monday, which has come and gone with no new arrival. We went back to the doctor today and she said she wanted to go ahead and induce(these days if the baby looks healthy through all the tests, is old enough, etc, they go ahead and induce, whereas I believe in the past they would wait 7-14 days before induction). As a reminder no we don't know the sex, we decided we'd find out the old fashioned way.
I'm taking the missus to the hospital at 12:30 tonight and they will begin the induction at 5:30 tomorrow morning(there are some preliminary things that need to be done tonight in preparation).
With that in mind I've been doing a bit of running around today. The hospital has a hotspot can't plug in devices so I made sure that both my batteries for my laptop are at full charge. In addition I was at best buy the other day and say a converter for the car so just in case juice is running low I can head out to the truck, plug in through the cigarette lighter and keep going(we have a group of people we need to email upon the big event). In addition I was able to configure my Nokia 3650 to function as an IR modem for the laptop... I was actually able to browse the web alot faster than I expected it to be. I thought through the IR port it would be slower than dialup, but on the contrary while definitely not DSL speeds, it's easily faster than dialup. We have a bluetooth radio for our desktop PC that I was going to bring initially but the damn thing is only for Win XP machines and the laptop is still running 2000.
Anyway I've posted some pictures at our site. Nothing else is on the site right now except for some placeholder text. She's designing the site... among other things. This is our baby's room the missus decided to do a disney theme, this required us to remove everything from the room, add a chair rail, paint above the chair rail to the ceiling, lay wallpaper below the chair rail to the floor, add a disney ceiling border all the way around the top of the walls, and then I had to assemble all of the furniture and pull down the ceiling fan blades so her and her mom could paste disney characters on them. I forgot to takes pictures of the fan... anyway here's how the room came. Of course since she was pregnant at the time she couldn't do much so much of it fell on me. Her father works at Lowes and so he put up the chair railing, with some minor assistance from me(He claims alot of assistance but I say he did most of the work).
Anyway here at the photos of the room from a few different angles.
I'll be back at some point tomorrow to let ya know the results.
One of these days I'm going to get around to getting a new digital camera...
