Holy Smokes!! That show as AWESOME!! I was somewhat worried how good of a show they could put on, but I was excited to see them. But I was blown away by their stage show!! Insane!

Got some good photos, give me a couple minutes to upload them. White Man hit the show up with me, and he had nothing but rave reviews. I'm sure he will post in here.

That was nuts. During Neighboorhood 2 (Laika), 2 of the guys had helmets on, and they were hitting each other in the heads with drumsticks. And it somehow devolved into an impromptu wrestling match.

The whole show was super intense. Everything was much louder than on the record. They opened with Wake Up, and from that point on I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. And I had to hold my jaw into my head, particularly during In the Backseat, and the medley of Power Out/Rebellion (Lies). I didn't think the chick would be able to pull off the vocals to In the Backseat live, but she nailed it, completely. Also, instrument-switching out the wazoo. The only person that didn't repeatedly switch instruments was the violinist. Everyone else was all over the place. I think like everyone in the band was on keyboards at one point or another.

And we got Talking Heads during the encore :D

If you have the opportunity, SEE THIS BAND!!!!! Super amazing, high energy, intense, and pretty god damned loud. They may have put out the best album of the year, and they may also have the best live show I've seen this year.

EDIT: This was Seattle

my favorite was the crazy running looking guy. He was all over the place!! He played keyboards, was on the helmet team, he pulled a flag out and wrapped himself in it, then started whipping fellow band members with it, then threw it in one guys face!! He was insane!!

Another guy was a DEAD ringer for Napoleon Dynamite. I mean DEAD ON!

He knocked the guy's glasses off with that flag, too. And then he nicely put them on the duder's face at the end of the song.

LeBron loves his girlfriend. There is no other woman in the world he’d rather have. The problem is, Dwyane’s not a woman.
*is jealous*

My album of the year.

Ha. There was an article about them in the Calendar section of today's LA Times that said "Butler noted his resemblance to uber-geek film character Napolean Dynamite." They were here in LA earlier this week but the show sold out pretty quickly. I'll just have to wait until they come back next month.

I'm in Seattle, would've gone if I'd known. Especially since it looks like it was at Nuemo's, which kicks ass.

Which Talking Heads song did they do??

White Man, Element, sorry I didn't meet up, I was away from the PC and we didn't get there until 8:15 so we were in the back of the floor room.

Last night's show was incredible, for being such a young band (which was apparent whenever Win Butler stumbled over his words attempting to converse with the crowd), they know how to put on a killer rock show. My only real problem was Regine, my God, the woman has a killer voice and is a talented musician, but she is a total drama queen, the kind of person that I would totally not get along with. I got my Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels) 7" signed by Win after the show last night, really nice guy.

My little critique did not ruin the experience one bit, just some small obsevations. I was impressed at the number of instruments each band member was capable of playing, sure makes me feel stupid, aside from the recorder in 4th grade, I cannot play anything. I hope this band does not fall victim to the same fate as Interpol (say what you want, Antics is a terrible follow up to TOTBL).

Great great show, go see them if you can (most shows are long sold out).

As an aside, I really dislike guys who go with their girlfriends who obviously don't want to be there. This snotty four foot girl and her behemoth of a beau decided to stand right in front of Emilie and I during the second and third songs, completely blocking our view of the stage. He was bored out of his mind, and I'm not really sure what the hell they were doing there, seeing how she was complaining throughout the Arcade Fire's performance.... yet another reason why 21+ shows rock so much.

Finally stopped at Frites after the show, mixing curry ketchup and garlic aoli mayonaise together is killer.

edit: There is a nice interview in this week's stranger with Arcade Fire, check it out around town or at www.thestranger.com

i was shocked at the VAST age difference for the people at the show. I mean we saw old man winter and then like a 14 year old girl on the other side. It was really strange.

The show kicked ass, their was free food upstairs before the show started :D Yummy finger foods!

but she is a total drama queen
I found it funny that she sang (lip synced) to every song she didn't sing on. But did like crazy stares to people in the crowd and stuff.

Very strange.

Yep, they're definitely totally wicked live, although it sounds like you guys got treated to an extra special performance. I saw them back in October and they were totally phenomenal. Wake Up = amazing.

Every other person had a brown cord blazer on, man. Every. Other. Person.

I ended up going coatless for the show. Yeah, it's pretty much that way at most all-ages shows I go to. I bought it a couple years ago, and I love it so much that I just can't give it up. Plus, those kids look all indie in them, I just look like a freaking college professor with it on.

After having a few days to let it sink in, that was easily the best show I've seen since Radiohead in 1998. It's in my top three of all time.

You guys make me sad. They already came through my city after I found out about them. Maybe they'll tour again soon??
