White Man, Element, sorry I didn't meet up, I was away from the PC and we didn't get there until 8:15 so we were in the back of the floor room.
Last night's show was incredible, for being such a young band (which was apparent whenever Win Butler stumbled over his words attempting to converse with the crowd), they know how to put on a killer rock show. My only real problem was Regine, my God, the woman has a killer voice and is a talented musician, but she is a total drama queen, the kind of person that I would totally not get along with. I got my Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels) 7" signed by Win after the show last night, really nice guy.
My little critique did not ruin the experience one bit, just some small obsevations. I was impressed at the number of instruments each band member was capable of playing, sure makes me feel stupid, aside from the recorder in 4th grade, I cannot play anything. I hope this band does not fall victim to the same fate as Interpol (say what you want, Antics is a terrible follow up to TOTBL).
Great great show, go see them if you can (most shows are long sold out).
As an aside, I really dislike guys who go with their girlfriends who obviously don't want to be there. This snotty four foot girl and her behemoth of a beau decided to stand right in front of Emilie and I during the second and third songs, completely blocking our view of the stage. He was bored out of his mind, and I'm not really sure what the hell they were doing there, seeing how she was complaining throughout the Arcade Fire's performance.... yet another reason why 21+ shows rock so much.
Finally stopped at Frites after the show, mixing curry ketchup and garlic aoli mayonaise together is killer.
edit: There is a nice interview in this week's stranger with Arcade Fire, check it out around town or at
