so i dont know what it was, but this was one of the most boring times i've had at a show in recent history. everything sounded the same. the crowd was all over the place in age. it was just boring. whiteman and i just kinda stood there waiting for it to end. Franz Ferdinand reminds me of a present day Bay City Rollers or The Monkees. Clean cut, fun music, but vanilla. Just plain, but great in short bits. Perhaps it was just all the long hours I've been doing at work and wasn't in a concert mood, but the show was just stale.

I've always heard they have a good live show.
Well I think the sound had something to do with it. But it felt like I was watching an episode. Very rehearsed and tailored.

dude, you like the killers. :P (as did i...)

anyway, ruh-roh...im seeing them on the 17th...i was hoping for a really stellar show. but man, last night gang of four blew me the fuck away. old british dudes gyrating on stage, fucked up bass hooks, destroying speakers with baseball bats. my god it was awesome.
and then came pixies...

We legitimately thought they played the same song twice. Franz deserves to be in EA Trax.

haha burn.

that was in burnout 3 right? that made me love the song and then with about 0:30 completion time of the game, hate it again.

what is wrong with the killers. they are still good.

The killers had a cd that had a lot of variety. Franz CD is very samey.

However, they ARE a decent bad, its just their next cd better be something with a bit more variety or im done with em.

I dunno, I saw them last June and thought it was one of the best shows I've ever seen. This was a fairly tiny venue though and they were just catching on in America, so I suppose most of us there had been fans for some time already. It was a great atmosphere and they were really into it -- This Fire was an amazing encore.

Saw them at the end's deck the hall ball in december, and I think they were the act to beat that night. they were really entertaining, and they only had 10 songs to play (+1 new (i'm your villian)) but they were still good. sound can ruin things though. but especially after spending a few trips between shelton and seattle lately with the new cd, they sort of bleed together. i think you've got fair crticisms, but i partially think you're wrong.

Heh, just what I thought too. I trust your opinion most of the time.

That's too bad. I caught Franz at Easy Street Records and the Crocodile Cafe (maybe ~400 people were there) back in March 2004, and they were on fire. Perhaps they don't work well in a large venue.

Am I the only person that doesn't "get" Franz? What's so special about them?
There's nothing to "get" about any band. Some people like that music, while others like listening to pasty ghouls squeal about being a rat in a cage.

::shrug::

I listen to lots of bands, btw. SP is just one of them.

When "The Everlasting Gaze" was out on radio, 107.7 would lay over a clip of a mooing cow during his little spoken word bridge. Perfectly suited for that section of the song.

We all want to hold mooooooooooooooooo in the everlasting moooooooooo gaze
Enchanted mooooooooooooo in the rapture of his mooooooooooooo sentimental sway
But underneath the wheels moooooooooooooooo lie the skulls of every cog
The fickle moooooooooooofascination of an everlasting god

ok, you win. that right there was "teh funny". ironic coming from you though.

anyway, yeah, nothing to get about any band really, listen to what you like. you ppl get too caught up whenever something gets hyped here if said something isn't to your liking.
