really poor stage show, singers vocals were WAY to powerful. awful mixing, you couldn't hear the guitar or keyboard at times.

really shows that this band hasn't done a show in 2 years or so. the new guitarist had no personality at all.

Yeah, the band was Interpol bad as far as stage presence goes. The band may or may not have been rusty -- it took them like 4 songs to get the levels set to their liking. . .except the levels were godawful. The vocals were so far in front and unbearably loud that they drowned out the guitar and keyboards just about completely. Matters weren't helped by the lead singer's nasally voice, which I've always preferred in small doses. It was pretty much impossible to fairly compare the band's musical performance to their recorded work with the levels the way they were.

I really dislike all ages shows, as well.

Oh, and the opening band was so awful that we stayed at the bar area for their entire set. We have no clue what this Louis XIV band even looks like, but they sure sounded like refuse recycled and retossed into the bin.

as White Man said, Louis XIV sounded like recycled and reused music. The only reason we knew their set ended is because the bar filled up, it could have been elevator music for all we knew.

I guess it was the night for disappointing shows. I walked out of Cat Power. I could have stayed home and listened to her albums and gotten the same effect.

they are from victoria. i like their album. there is some fun stuff on the record. but his record voice and his live voice are different.

As someone said before, I can only stand Hot Hot Heat in small doses, but "Goodnight Goodnight" is a great single. I liked them a little when I first heard "Bandages" and then I saw them perform live on Letterman and I thought they were terrible.
