You have to get the proper stuff, often (particularly in the west) you get stuff that's too sweet and not crisp.

I used to love the pine nut fingers when I was a kid

now I prefer the more grown up ones like the mabrouma (spun)

or the Aleppo pistachio ones (god tier)

This man right here knows what he's talking about. Bless you. Now I'm going to have to go buy some.

Baklava can be amazing! Best one I ate was in Greece though. Finding good baklava here in Germany can be pretty tough in my experience. Turkish baklava is heavier as sweeter than the Greek version and it's really expensive.
Galaktompoureko is where it's at though.

Yes, this man is correct.

Pistachio baklava is my preference, but someone brought in the walnut kind to work this morning and I have to say it's pretty damn good. I like it better than I usually do.

Love baklava. Love it. I absolutely love honey, so the "water and sugar" version is basically a cardinal sin to me. Lots of great places around me that make a not super sweet baklava too, so I don't feel like dying immediately after eating it.

Lebanese sweets are good like.

Maamool, mshabak, kenefe, baklawa, are good, but Halawet el Jibn is absolute godlike GOAT sweets, and it´s not even close.

Bekalwa with honey? Yuck!

I've had it a couple of times and made it only once. As someone who isn't that into over-sweet things, it's something I can live without ever eating again, but it's not disgusting just way too sweet for me.

I love baklava, but I definitely feel like it's one of those treats where you can only have so many in a lifetime before diabeetus.

That ekmek looks pretty interesting, never tried it. Will have to hit up a Greek bakery sometime.

Omg baklava is like crack for me. I can eat a whole tray no problem.

Every time I get a shwarma I have a few. I've tried cutting back but its hard.

By far my favourite sweet. I don't touch other candies/sweets at all basically.

Fresh home made baklava is god tier they are a bit more crispy then the ones bought from the stores where the sugar syrup have been completely absorbed by the dough.
