Thought this was worth sharing as it looks pretty good and works surprisingly well.

It was combined with the WASD movement mod

And the contextual action bar mod

Good. Now if only they could remove that shitty archaic 90s combat system.

If I wanted to roll dice that bad I'd go play a board game, you know, in real life.

Or you could go play Dragon Age.

That's a wild take lol.
I know how he feels.

I'm about to do a replay sometime in the future of a Dragon Age game I never finished (Inquisition) because I found a combat mod and map mod that will alleviate some frustrations that made me drop it on the first run.

Yeah, I'd love this as an option. I always played BG3 with the camera zoomed up behind the player when roaming for that immersive experience, but you can't adjust the camera pitch at all.

Just don't want to see CRPGs ruined, it already happened with Fallout. Fortunately, Larian is smarter than that.
To be fair, Fallout 1 and 2 was an entirely different dev team with an entirely different vision.

At the point they took over the brand, Bethesda should have (and could have) treated Fallout like the Warhammer 40k brand with different subtitles for each entry, and it felt like that was the direction things were going with Brotherhood of Steel and Fallout Tactics, but then Bethesda titled the next game Fallout 3.

I wouldn't mind going to a fixed perspective like BG1 & 2 or modern games like PoE 1 and 2. Sometimes the constant need to change and pivot the camera is anoying.

If you only knew how the rulesets worked themselves into this entire hobby....

Eh harsh opinion but you're right. People blame Mass Effect for changing Bioware but never mention how KoToR was a template for every game afterwards.

Yep. Essential mod...completely changed the game for me....in a very positive way! :messenger_smiling_hearts:

That's like complaining about driving a car in a racing game wtf

I played the game with the WASD mod and I really loved that mod, really improved my enjoyment of the game.

I used to not like Turn Based (mostly because the only games I played with turn based were usually JRPGs, with super basic turn based systems), but Baldur's Gate 3 is the first game where I really, really enjoyed the combats.

All the encounters are unique, all the combats are different, with a specific terrain, unique ennemies that don't respawn, real strategy and freedom of action, I really found it amazing and super immersive. The only thing I didn't like was the amount of luck / RNG with the dice rolls, and I ended up reloading my saves super often because of that lol So if you mean that with the dice rolls, I can understand it and agree, but I really enjoyed it nonetheless, much more than other turn based games I played before.

It's the game that opened me to trying more turn based games after it. I played Midnight Suns, where I absolutely loved the combats, even more than in Baldur's Gate (no RNG, no luck, no %, just pure raw strategy), and I also later another JRPG, Persona 5, where it was more basic but still much better than most other JRPGs I tried before. I'm currently playing through Metaphor and I find the combats in there better than in Persona 5, and very enjoyable, although still very different (and not as deep) as something like Midnight Suns or Baldur's Gate.

Looks exactly as bad as you'd expect from a tackled-in camera mode in a game that was never intended to be played with it.

Good. Now if only they could remove that shitty archaic 90s combat system.
AND *this* takes the award for the retarded hot take of the day.

I wonder how they managed viewing distance since the vanilla distance was from above and now it's showing into the distance.

"Look at this cool mod that is entirely optional, but if you don't like it, ok"

Some people that never found love in their life: Oh my god, everything about this sucks, this game sucks, this mod sucks, they should change everything about this very successful game.
