Baten Kaitos and the mega plot twist.

Seriously, one of the best plot twist i didn't see coming.

I knew there was something up with Melodia, but Kalas?

Being a lover of card based games, I think this is a really underrated game.

Lame plot twist. I hate it when they have you put an emotional investment in a character, have him turn, and then have a huge let down (story wise) after that.

C+ game.

An interesting twist, but I didn't like how it was pretty much impossible to see it coming because the game hides it from you intentionally. It would have been cooler with some more subtle hints.

At any rate, I agree. Baten Kaitos is easily the best RPG in recent memory. I just beat Xenosaga II and I'm currently tackling Suikoden IV, and Baten Kaitos poops all over both of these games. The card battle system was a lot of fun. I hope the game turns into a series and the battle system evolves further to allow attacks that hit multiple enemies. Great game overall.

See, that's the thing, a good plot twist is something that you shouldn't see coming. Atleast IMO. And the fact that these characters are fallible is a nice change of pace, I am starting to get bored off main characters that are "perfect".

And Uliari
You can get him back
.

My idea of a good plot twist is one that most people would never see coming, but would be possible to understand why it happen without having to explain it like in BK. Like, if they never showed the explanation in the following scenes, it would have made no sense, because they never really layed any ground for it in the narative to the player.

That's because the crap leading up to it
happens right before the game starts and involves wiping out your(the spirit's) memory.

I like the BK ending sequence, but I was still going "wtfbbq" when
I heard Geldoblame's voice and then he appeared as being merged with the Earth. wtf was that?
