Thanks for posting this I was curious about what they would have. Original Batman shall be mine....Maybe Batman returns for the Commentary. Will rent the other for the Commentary, I 'm such a commentary whore....

Edit:just reading over the additonal special features, these disk seem pretty loaded, I might have to buy the set...

WTF

How can it NOT have the video for The Riddler by Method Man

NO SALE!

I hope they load Batman Returns will all the shit they cut out, or at least talk about it, like how Marlon Waynes was going to be Robin at one point.

:lol Seriously? I never heard about this. I want more back story on this! ManaByte?!

Honestly the best thing about the SE editions is the new transfer. If any of you have watched especially the first two films on a HDTV, it looks like COMPLETE ASS.

I bought the Batman '98 DVD, what a shitty transfer. It was so dark and grainy, I thought it was something wrong with my DVD player.

Even though I think Batman Begins shits all over Batman and Batman Returns, the dvd whore in me will buy them anyway :(

No "Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me" video?

Fuck Batman Forever. I'll take Batman '89.

Bigger, Bolder, Brighter, Nipples. They seriously better not pretend those 2 Shumacher flicks were a success. I can't imagine Shumacher going the whole movie without breaking down crying/laughing and admitting it was incredibly shitty. Only to use the rest of the time apologizing.

They were, at least Forever did well.

Yeah, they were sadly though the latter killed the franchise. Thought with Warner admitting it was a failure, they'd put special features like "Batman & Robin: What went wrong". Which is actually an alternative to "play movie"

Forever did ok (about the same or a bit worse than Batman Returns when inflation is taken into account), but Batman and Robin did pretty horrible...

it had this monster opening weekend against the Julia Roberts flick "My Best Friends Wedding" where it beat it something like 40 million to 20 million... little by little though, My Best Friends Wedding had positive word of mouth spreading, while Batman and Robin had the worst possible I think and by the end of the summer My Best Friends wedding outgrossed Batman and Robin... I think "The Lost World" grossed more than 2x what Batman and Robin that summer and that movie wasn't the most pleasantly received (though I happen to love it, not having read the books yet)...

Batman and Robin had a massive celebrity push though, I remember Clooney on Leno and even Leno saying something to the effect of "I thought it was just gonna be whatever, but I was really impressed)... I think that explains the first weekend success...

hmm, it's disappointing that there won't be any additional scenes for the first 2 movies that may have not made it into production just the last 2 which I don't like...

If this box is like the Alien Quadrilogy box (that is, if in the extras, people who worked on the movies are actually willing to admit that the last two are trainwrecks), then it'll be worth it for the commentaries and extras. Otherwise, no sale, and I'll probably just buy the Burton films separately.

Schumacher's been pretty open about admitting that the film sucked (though he has, perhaps not entirely unfairly, put some blame on the studio for placing such a high emphasis on getting the movie to sell toys).

I'm sure that assesment is bang on...a lot of these dumb fuck decisions with creative are made with the idea of selling toys to unsuspecting kids. I've always blamed WB corp for the way the series crashed and burned far more then Joel, though it doesn't let him off the hook.

Joel has proven himself as a competant director. I think he took the subject matter to lightly and treated it merely as a job to get done, figuring the franchise would sell the tickets itself.

It's too bad hollywood has a hard time learning this lesson.

Yeah, Schumacher can make good movies.

He's nowhere near as bad as the evil that is infesting X3. Nothing can save X3 from being worse than Batman & Robin.
