Batman Arkham Knight delayed to 2015

2015 is fine by me. I guess the people that wasted their money on a PS4/XB are boned, though. I wonder how much stuff actually slated for 2015 will slip into 2016, and which titles delayed for "early 2015" will have to be inevitably delayed until later in the year to avoid a crowd.

You guys are nuts.

I'm getting Destiny, DriveClub, AC Unity, Far Cry 4, Alien and depending on quality Dragon Age, and Mordor.

That's a packed Fall!

People keep saying this but AK was at the top of mine, and many others, list of games for the fall. Yeah there are other games, but it really sucks when one of your most anticipated gets delayed.

I'm looking at the games I had pegged to pick up this year and now that is 5 x's on my list. I'm so disheartened, I don't even want to play watch dogs right now. I am 100% serious, I'm so disappointed. What is wrong with fucking industry culture. We'll get a damn date, and get innadated with a ton of pre-order garbage and then *delay*. Why even show the game? This culture of showing games too early is killing mindshare. Did everyone just watch the response watch dogs get and decide to announce their games as early as possible? Man, this was the last straw for me.

why do people do this? maybe look up some more videos and see if you REALLY want to buy the game?

Well I was rather hyped for it and what time I did get of some hands-on was pretty awesome, but it's not really justifying keeping a console around that I can sell for a quick buck and then pick up next year for a much cheaper price tag. Hell, JB Hi-Fi in Australia is selling PS4 bundles right now for $598 and that comes with THREE AAA titles including Watch Dogs.

Mordor, AC, Dragon Age and Evil Within are all coming on PC, and my system seems to be more than capable of handling those so why bother? I'll keep trucking along until after E3, but I really can't see any games being announced for 2014 besides TLOU and maybe some indie games.

You know, I'm fine with that. They all have the potential to be quality titles.

However, I just hope that these 'delayed 2014' games don't end up being released fall 2015.

I'd rather see a steady stream of games released throughout the year (e.g. each month = big 'AAA' title).

So fucking what? This attitude that only next gen platform exclusives exist is baffling.

It's not that they don't exist, but people seem to be pretty tired of cross platforms, since it holds back the possibilities of what we can see work, on the new hardware, and this gen seem to be stretching it quite a lot, this cross gen thing.

Not saying a cross gen game can't be good, but the excitement of a new hardware generation is reduced, when most of the games are coming out (in pretty much the same form) on much older hardware, too.

It feels like this generation is starting very slowly.

So i won't be buying new consoles to play games i can play on the hardware i've had for 8 years.
(nevermind the fact that I have a gaming PC, which is somewhat beyond the point).

You don't want to play a game that's out now because a different game got delayed? What in the fuck.

This game was gonna be my reason to buy a PS4 this holiday. Now I can get a new iPad from Santa and then buy the PS4 when it becomes worth it for me :)

I don't want any of those.

After all these delays there's literally nothing announced for 2014 I want other than Wii U games.

It seemed a little obvious. I doubt WB was really going to release Shadow of Mordor and Arkham right next to each other.

Incidentally, I wonder if that game is next!

Well, that was the last 2014 AAA game I was interested in.
2014 is officially the worst gaming year since I don't know when.

Well, more time to enjoy The Evil Within and Alien Isolation
until they get delayed until 2015 as well...
.

Kinda glad I didn't get a PS4 yet. As far as the games I'm really looking forward to, this generation isn't really going to get started until next year.

Gonna be a great "destroy the backlog" year, though.

2015 is the new 2014.
Nope, 2015 is the new 2011 - there's new Witcher and new Batman! Now we only need new Deus Ex, and something Portal or Half Life related, and my favourite year is about to repeat itself :D

Also, damn this delay sucks. I know it can only get better with this delay, but still, I was hoping I can play new Arkham game this fall :(

Cross gen games look and run like shit on old consoles. They run and look great on new consoles.

If you have a gaming PC that's a valid argument, but I feel sorry for anyone torturing themselves by playing cross gen games on shitty old hardware.

What is the actual chance of new games being announced for 2014 at E3? Six months of time to hype and deliver a product seems awfully short that I can only see indie games working. Though, in saying that even indie games are getting delayed.

MS has Sunset Overdrive and Forza Horizon 2, 2 next-gen games being developed specifically for the system in mind. What does sony have, driveclub? Jesus H christ, I'm starting to feel tricked by sony's hype train. Looking at this time last generation in 2007, we had next gen only games like Bioshock, Uncharted, Mass Effect, Mario Galaxy, Halo 3, Warhawk, Assassin's Creed and Call of Duty 4 to name a few. What do we got so far? Infamous, Mario Kart 8, Tropical Freeze and what do we have for the fall? Evolve, The Crew, Assassin's Creed, Sunset Overdrive, Forza Horizon 2 (technically). I mean wow, you didn;t have to be a ps4 in 2013 or 2014. Was anybody ready for this generation?

Don't forget to mention Destiny! ^_^

While I understand the disappointment in losing a current gen title, I don't see why people are expecting a ton of non crossgen titles. Gen only just started and many of these games have been in development for a while.

Maybe it's just my PC gamer frustration talking, cause we sat on very powerful HW for some years now, but i really want to move on, and stop catering to 512mb RAM and whatnot.
Sure they run better, but when you build a game from the ground-up, knowing you'll have to retrofit it to 8 years old machines, it will influence your design.

So yeah, it matters to me, how many titles are cross platform and how long this practice keeps going.

Thankfully the attach rate of current gen consoles (minus WiiU, but it doesn't really factor in my argument in the first place) seems pretty good, so hopefully we can move on.

Probably because we just game off of a 8 year console generation and they're sick of last gen games even if they're up ported.
