Yeah that was like the whole point of the tdkR ending
Kinda the point of the whole trilogy, and he succeeded!

I totally get what you mean. Makes me remember of this:I know that's probably not an exceptionally popular opinion, but as messed up as Bruce Wayne is in most depictions, I usually think he's ultimately a good person trying to do the right thing. He wants to stop crime, not necessarily setting out to hurt criminals. I mean, that's what that whole discussion in Batman Begins about the difference between Justice and Vengeance is all about. Sometimes I worry that distinction might be getting lost.
I loved that scene at the time. A shame that DC decided to scrap it.Batman being an empathetic father figure is pretty fucking important to what makes him interesting.

He could've been a great Batman. And I still think that the Arkham Knight Bruce looks like him:Angel Season 2 was essentially a season long audition for both Whedon and Boreanaz to get the Batman job.
I like to pretend that Cassie was there, just off-panel.Such BS that they forget this(and then erased with New52),
Not long afterwards...

Fuck you Bruce.
feels boring this week with barely any DCCU related news specially after last week's onslaught

What is that from? Awesome art style
Batman is only hard to criminals, not to children. He can be quite empathic, especially when it comes to children who are pushed into situations.
Why do you want him to batarang a black child? :,(
Yeah, for a few days there we actually had things to discuss.
I miss those days. Good times.
That whole episode is fantastic but yeah, that scene makes my eyes water.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOooJW5SSDA
Favorite Batman scene in the DCAU.

Whedon would like to direct Batman (when asked hypothetically)

Please, no. We need a badass Batman. He can be good while not being a softie.

Dude looks haggard. AoU must have really put a strain on him.
Honestly, Snyder is a fuckin machine if he manages to actually do MoS, this, and JLA 1 & 2.Dude looks haggard. AoU must have really put a strain on him.

I can't imagine the stress those guys who do studio tent poles must be under.

I imagine Snyder having a lot of fun though.
So what, you think he should have punched the kid in the face?

Why would anyone be surprised at this? He's a fan of comic books and I'm sure Warner Bros would pay a lot of money to get him on board. Unless you're looking at this through fanboy 'Marvel vs DC' goggles then it shouldn't shock anyone if Whedon (or any MCU director) jumps on a DC film. Or vice-versa.
I don't think they would "pay him a lot of money to get him on board". It's obvious they have some sort of direction they want to go with the universe and they weren't afraid of ditching MacLaren. They already rejected his proposal for WW a long time ago. Not that I dislike Whedon, but I'm sure they already have a list of directors for all their films. I don't think Whedon is anywhere near blank check material like how WB treats Nolan.
Regardless, they probably can't sign onto WB for films for awhile and vice versa. Still it'd be fun for Whedon to do a TV show for them if that was possible. I think it would be fun to have him on Titans.
Tomasi's Batman B&R is how I want this Batman to be. TDKR Batman dangerously approaches trope level, and I don't like how he referred to his Robins as "soldiers". Dude wasn't even that broken up over Jason.
I liked young justice Batman as well. If we ignore the dumb Batman Beyond comics, JL Batman was a good template.

Probably no wait. Lord and Miller are everywhere working with everybody, and the Russo brothers recently signed a deal with Sony too. So unless Whedon screwed himself over on his contract, there's no reason he can't work with another company on a movie. If you mean specifically a superhero movie, maybe.I do wonder how long Whedon has to wait before he could do a film for Warner Bros or Fox. There has to be a competition clause in his contract where he can't work for them or do anything "superhero" related at least for some time. For all we know WB might want him for something else and them not liking his Wonder Woman pitch might not be an issue. It's more I think when they could work with him.

I'll pass on Whedon. I mean, for what? He's exhausted, and WB is connected to so much better talent.I do wonder how long Whedon has to wait before he could do a film for Warner Bros or Fox. Why isn't Ryan Gosling a DC Superhero, please tell me that.

Whedon said he was tired of using other people's IP's for films. Fine by me if that means more material like Cabin in the Woods.

I think the biggest obstacle to any potential Whedon DC film is that he's tired as fuck of superheroes right now.

That could be countered by having a lot more creative freedom than he might have had over at Marvel.
But yeah, 3 years knee deep in superhero movies must be tiring.
So I saw some Avengers 2 spoilers that got me thinking about DC's movie slate: at the end of the film, there is anAt the start of their movie universe Marvel took characters nobody outside of comics knew about and made them huge, and they are going to continue this trend with the above spoilers and the Black Panther and Captain Marvel movies. Then I look at DC's movie slate and see that all they have planned for now to 2020 are movies for their most popular characters and I think that's a waste. They should shove some Blue Beetle, Amethyst, or Dr. Fate in there. And Dick Grayson should definitely exist, so he can take the Batman mantle when Ben Affleck is done. I would much rather legacy characters come to prominence than see heroes constantly get re-casted.almost completely new Avengers team.

Definitely him.Maybe I'm super-slow and it's already been pointed out, but I only just noticed what I'm pretty sure is Neil Degrasse Tyson in the trailer.

"We're talking about a being whose very existence challenges our own sense of priority in the universe."
If it's not him, it sounds identical to him.
