Battery capacity and voltage question

I've got a Canon ZR50MC, and it says it will work using a Canon BP-512, BP-525, and BP-535.

I'm interested in getting myself a 535, and I've got some questions about it.

As I've been looking up the model online, I've noticed different stores are selling it for different prices, and the only real difference I can see seems to be the capacity. Here's what I mean:

From KeyBattery.com - Capacity: 3900mAh / 7.4 volts
From Calcellular.com - Capacity: 4100mAh / 7.4 volts
From replacement-battery.org - Capacity: 3900mAh / 7.2 volts
From EastCoastPhoto.com - Capacity: 4200mAh / No volts listed
From DatavisionComputer.com - Capacity: 4500 mAh / 7.4 volts

Now these are all listed as the same battery. If they're all the same battery, what the heck is with the difference in numbers?

whoops, noticed one of the voltages was off

the peak output voltage is the same, so as long as the packages are physically compatible, capacity won't change compatibility. you probably want the one with the highest capacity rating though

When you posted that, I noticed one of my voltages was off.

What exactly do these ratings mean, though?

The voltage listed should be the physical "power" of the battery, the "electro-motive-force", or how hard it drives the circuit. If it's the desired voltage, it should work.

the mAh is mili-Amp hours, or essentially how long it will last, essentially.

I find the whole thing odd because my camera manual just says to use the BP-535, it doesn't specify the different versions of it. It also says the BP-535 will work for 9 hours or so.
