The DLC in this game so far has been excellent. Great maps and this new russian dlc is even better. Great job Dice. Gives me hope for Battlefront2.

Maybe I just had a few bad matches this weekend, but the quality of players has seemed to drop dramatically. There are always 10-15 snipers on a team yet none of them use spot flares. If I switch classes and start using spot flares, teammates run away from the objective and never resupply me anyway.
Just a really frustrating couple of matches. Doesn't help that the enemy team always seems to have their shit together.

I feel like most people get out if their normal groove when doing weird assignments. Trying out new weapons, playing classes they normally don't play, or being useless shooting at planes with an LMG just makes people bad. I know the 1/4 round I spent behind a sniper shield didn't do much for my team during that time.
At the very least it doesn't help bad players play better.

I shot down to planes with an LMG in one round. Both times they were getting raked by flak and I just happened to get the vehicle destroyed both times with a quick spray. The real challenge is like tripwire mine kills. It's not even built for killing people.
I got mine by just going to a plane heavy map, finding someone on an AA and trying to steal their AA kills. Don't start shooting until you see damage on the plane, or just manage overheat so that you can hold down fire at the end.

How? I been trying different ways but I still can't get a single tripmine kill.
I want to like this game but it's probably the worst AAA shooter experience I've ever had. Map and gameplay design issues aside (and there are a ton of issues), maybe one in every dozen rounds is close. The rest are just curb stomps. I now understand why this game has shed so many players compared to BF4. And I'm fortunate enough to do well and win 65% of my matches.
I'll give it another shot once the CTE patch hits but as someone that has been playing since 1942, I am really sad with how this turned out.

I can't explain it but the model 10 slugs have moments like that too which is why I only used it for like 15 minutes. Maybe arm shots are reducing damage to laughable amounts which is dumb considering how many shots to the chest area actually hit the arms or hands first.
They still use location based damage apart from the head despite it not making sense and it compromising gameplay. Arm multiplier is a fraction of the chest, for example.
The problem is that I haven't seen this happen at all besides this instance.
Even snipers hiding up to 100 meters or so get a consistent amount of damage from what I've seen. Nothing that drops down to 15 even at that distance.
I've seen plenty of shots go straight through targets though. Shots that I know that should have hit and simply don't register, but I've grown used to that ever since BF4.
The game was really acting up today on PS4 as well. New maps loading and in the middle of the loading screen, all of a sudden the map seemed to change to the one we just played.
But when the game started it was the correct one again.
My buddy even had to reset his game twice as it wouldn't boot past the start screen and instead he got the globe which zoomed out or something and he couldn't do anything.
Guess they can't help themselves and just keep messing stuff up time after time. :-/

I did it on galicia. NIce and open. Plane can't really escape.
I found that I get tripewire bomb kills when I just set them in some random crater and when people dive into it for cover I get a kill. Also I would find other people's bombs and put mine behind so hopefully it counts the first one as damage and mine confirms the kill.

It seems like specializations carry over when you pick up an elite kit, so if you pick one up and you have the regen perk your health is gonna come back way faster. It's pretty OP.
Doesn't work with classes like cavalry, pilot and tanker since they don't have specializations.

Played BF1 for the first time in ages last night to try out my new faux 7.1 surround headphones.
I'd already tried them with DOOM and Destiny 2 but Holy Fuck BF1 is on another level. Amazing Audi.
New maps seem neat too.

Why is it so hard for people to understand that getting attacked from both sides kinda sucks and it helps if we capture points that are close to our base to prevent this from happening? Fuck me.
And I hate it when half your team consists of snipers, no shit we're losing every damn game.

I actually tried to get my buddy online last night who only plays BF4 (no other game). He was busy though.
Looking forward to checking out the audio properly though.

I agree to some extent, but there is also a huge tendency in this game for people to cluster at the middle flag all game and waste resources, when one squad, or sometimes even one person, could have forced them to pull back and defend their home cap(s). I know that if I throw myself at the middle meat grinder flags I rarely make a difference by myself, but if I get their back cap I can usually make a significant difference, sometimes just by myself. You usually don't see a concerted effort right away to take it back, it's just a dribble of enemies coming to take it back and I can usually handle them. That being said, I often will work to retain or recapture our back caps.
Games like BF1 are a haven for the alt-right.

I think it's the opposite. Blacks and women in BF1 triggers the fuck out of alt-righters.
It's hilarious to see them complain about "historical accuracy" in a game where zeppelins provide close air support and the Hellriegel is the standard issue rifle for all factions.

Not sure if this will help but the PC version has a keybinding menu (Not in the controls menu oddly enough) which allows both keyboard and controller keys to be reassigned so I would try to look for something like that in the menu; Have no idea if it exist though I don't see why it wouldn't on the console version.
I think there a control scheme for this. If not, remember you can always remap any button on the PS4 in the disability settings.
It triggers them because it's a game they play. Before DICE got rid of user icons, it seemed like a third of them were Trump, Pepe, or Confederate icons. Now even though you have to make your avatars yourself, there are still tons of alt-right iconography in every match.

Am I stupid or was the Premium pass on sale yesterday, stating "this offer ends 5/10"?! WLAN spazzed out yesterday, so I said screw it and planned on buying it today, but early morning it already wanted full price.
Did I miss getting Premium at a decent price AGAIN?!
PS: Playing at my dad's place right now while staying there for a week, crap, with a ping of 30-40 instwad of 90 and less input lag it's like a completely different game. I am a murder machine with a scoped MG15 suppressive instead of rocking a pea shooter that registers every other hit at range.

Unless DICE makes the maps available to everyone, they will be lost to history, just like the BF3 Premium maps.
the last couple of times i've tried to play this it's been really hard for me to get in games. i'm hitting the "ANY MAP" quickmatch button (conquest) and getting put in maps with like 3 people. they seem to never fill up. surely there are more people playing than i'm being show. what's the deal...?
DICE's matchmaking is the most primitive and broken in the industry. You need to use the server browser.

Sounds like you experienced the bug where it doesn't spawn you as a Tanker class in the tank. Happens to me a lot. I'll spawn my tank and the game decides tp make me a Calvary or a Medic and be unable to self repair.

This is great to hear. I literally just remembered I had this game, thought I traded it in. Played it for a few nights now and want to get the pass. The positive responses and seeing like 60k on a night have pushed me over the edge.
