Battlefield 6 is not coming to the Switch 2 any time soon

According to Battlefield 6 head Vince Zempella, the upcoming military FPS will not be coming to the Switch 2. Sorry, Nintendo fans.

In an interview with Eurogamer, Zempella confirmed that EA "doesn't currently" have plans to bring the game to the Switch 2, and that Battlefield Studios is currently focused on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.

When asked why, Zampella confirms that those were the platforms where the core Battlefield audience is present, though he adds that he is "a huge Switch fan".

It's wonderful for them having an hybrid, why they would change that?
To have access to all third party titles and print $ by selling those games on their system. To have a system powerful enough to create ambitious titles, especially in the Metroid and Zelda universe. If they have a strong system that is on par with the other two, has access to all third party and has its true exclusives, this would be the best system to own. But as is, Nintendo is permanently stuck as a side bitch because nobody sane would main it as their primary system. I just want it to be good enough as a primary system. We've had this from Nintendo before, so they're obviously capable of delivering, but they don't want to, and prefer to be a side system. I am not interested in a side system.

If Nintendo cared about performance over portability, you'd be playing BF6 on day one. For how much longer is Nintendo gonna rely on phone tier specs and gimmicks instead of what matters?
I don't like the timeline where the thing that matters is power when it comes to gaming devices. As long as the games they release on the platform are good, that's all that matters.

Strong hardware can only make a good game even better. Being able to play ToTK at 120-144fps because of its simple visuals and BF6 at a solid 60fps is only a positive.

Oh they can get any game they want running on the Switch but maybe after fans spoke up after having to pay full price for a game in potato mode and vaseline filter, they thought twice about it. Its laughable that a brand new console that just came out and is supposed to be on the market for the next 6-7 years already has third party devs ignoring the console due to low hardware lol. Ouch.

I will never understand why everyone that says they won't work with Nintendo feels the need to say they are a big fan of Nintendo consoles. Sounds like something you tell your side chick: "no, I can't abandon my family, but I do love you".

And Microsoft seems to actually be breaking a contract they signed with Nintendo to port CoD over (Microsoft is going as far as purporsefully porting CoD to Xbox one and PS4 while skipping Switch 2.)

I dont a get a sense EA or your typical Nintendo gamer cares for BF comes to Switch. System probably cant handle it anyway.

Nintendo systems dont even get COD which is the most mainstream dudebro shooter for 20 years. The last COD games that came out for a Ninty system were for Wii U when Xbox One and PS4 were just launching. And googling it no BF game has ever come to a Nintendo system unless I missed it.

The Switch 2 even has the honor of not getting CoD even though Microsoft a few years ago signed a deal to port CoD to Nintendo consoles.

Who would even buy it on switch 2 when it would be the worst version to get? We made fun of series s for years because of the same reason and wanted Devs to drop the platform. Devs don't want the added strain of porting to switch 2 and I'm good with that because I buy Nintendo platforms for Nintendo games. Not butchered 3rd party ports.

This is Fake.

I don't really think power is an issue, the use of DLSS has already shown that Switch 2 can match up with Xbox Series S in some situations.

I think it's more the fact that Switch 2's audience isn't really compatible with Battlefield's audience. The sort of people who would play the game on PS, Xbox or PC are unlikely to play the Switch 2 version instead at home, and a game with such a strong focus on online multiplayer isn't really best suited for handheld play given that it's rare to get a good enough connection on the move.

Look at the specs of BF6, they are pretty modest, and Frostbite performs well on weak systems. This isn't UE5 slop.

They could if they want but EA has a bunch of Switch 2 games coming out and surely wants to see if third party games sell on it.

I'll buy FIfa to have Jedi Survivor on it then

Minimum requirements have a CPU slightly 20% (or so) slower than the one on the PS5 (and better than the one on the Switch 2), as for the GPU, 2060 is possibly better than the one on the Switch 2.

They're also asking for 16gb of RAM and 75gb of space.

The powerful plastic boxes of the competition don't offer any more exclusivities. A gaming PC can play anything they have but just better. Power is nothing if you don't have any game. Switch 2 may be weak, but in a few years, it will be full of good exclusivities.
