Battlefield 6 is not coming to the Switch 2 any time soon

If Nintendo cared about performance over portability, you'd be playing BF6 on day one. For how much longer is Nintendo gonna rely on phone tier specs and gimmicks instead of what matters?

I am perfectly aware of it selling very well now. WiiU sold well at launch as well. And so did MH Wilds. It will slow down by a lot within a year, and you will be stuck with mobile hardware for almost a decade.

I wouldn't want anything mobile. They could release a mobile system on the side like what Sony is planning to do, but i don't want Nintendo's main system to be portable. The tech is simply not there (batteries being one of the reasons) to support all third party.
I have one, its great to be honest and perfect for my needs. But I only use it as a portable system as a travel for work a fair bit.

I already have multiple ways to play everything else at home.

To have access to all third party titles and print $ by selling those games on their system. To have a system powerful enough to create ambitious titles, especially in the Metroid and Zelda universe. If they have a strong system that is on par with the other two, has access to all third party and has its true exclusives, this would be the best system to own. But as is, Nintendo is permanently stuck as a side bitch because nobody sane would main it as their primary system. I just want it to be good enough as a primary system. We've had this from Nintendo before, so they're obviously capable of delivering, but they don't want to, and prefer to be a side system. I am not interested in a side system.
#1) So you really believe that third parties are going to support a Nintendo console that's on the same level of power as their competition when third parties know well and clear that people who buy Nintendo systems do it for Nintendo games. Do you think 3rd parties are really going to support a Nintendo system no matter how powerful it is. You do realize if Nintendo system was way more powerful than the competition and they were both of the same exact proclaimed generation, you really believe that 3rd parties are going to support it more than the Sony system.

#2) Another thing, do you really think that no sane person would have a Nintendo console as their primary system? are you saying that everyone who lives in Japan don't have the sane mind. Because the last time I checked, they are some of the most intelligent human beings on the planet and the majority of them have a Nintendo system as their main primary console. So what are you really talking about?

While that could change in the future with a different console, I just don't think Nintendo cares to get super involved with these types of hardware focused online titles for obvious reasons. Could it do well for them? Oh sure, but there's a number of things holding them back. I think there were rumors that COD Warzone would come to Switch 2, but I really don't know about that. I think Fortnite and Apex Legends is about as far as they will go.

People don't buy third party on the system because it's by far the worst version of the game on the market. Currently, nobody buys a Nintendo system as their primary because their systems can't handle much, but if they stopped fucking around with mobile specs and gimmicks, plenty of people would buy it over the likes of a ps5 and of course the X. NES/SNES has already demonstrated that, and it's so easy to replicate in 2025. You cannot take third party sales seriously when 1. the system is generations behind the rest (specs wise) 2. has an extremely outdated online infractructure that is more of a meme than anything else. Fix these two, and people will come, and not just the casuals, or people that buy the system as their side console to play 1-3 exclusive games per year.

As i've said in multiple other threads, Japan is the only country where what i am suggesting would do worse for Nintendo than what it does currently. So yes, In Japan, plenty of people main it, but they're also super casual, so don't expect them to support all the third party coming out, one of the reasons why third party does so poorly on the system.

No surprise here. The entire future of the Battlefield franchise seems to be resting on this game and EA has huge expectations for it. Every available ounce of development resources are going to be devoted to shipping the most polished version of the game possible for PC and current gen consoles without a delay. They can't afford to invest in a port to a new system, and definitely not one that presents a unique set of challenges because of its mobile architecture and lower specs.

Before they even consider a Switch 2 port, EA is going to want to see how the game performs on PS5/Xbox/PC and how their other titles perform on the Switch 2. They can't afford to gamble with their resource allocation right now. Too much is riding on this release.

Looks like, due to technical limitations it is impossible. But anyway, gamers buy Switch for the exclusives not much about the third party games. BF6 is preferable on console or pc.

I think they can port it over, switch 2 is giving ps4+ in performance, not pro level but right under it. If it can run at 1080 p on series S it could probably run at 720p on switch 2.

When PS6 ONLY level games are releasing? I think it'll be worse! LOL!
Well yeah, the problem is that Nintendo fans are attacking EA for not getting into all the extra work to get it ported to Switch 2 that would be possibly running the game at 30fps and low resolutions with pop-in and more and I can understand EA for not doing this considering that the development/porting costs are increasing with each generation.

They could probably port some real low tier version of it, but so much would change that you would imagine cross play wouldn't be a thing. With it being a Nintendo system, how many would play Battlefield on it? Is there an big enough audience for those shooters on Nintendo platforms?

what are you talking, did you saw the level of destruction of DK Bananza ? you can destruct everything on that game, some walls and windows wouldn't make a dent on SW2 performance,
With ps3 launch titles level of fidelity.

Now do that on switch with actual nextgen graphic.

(it's impossible to do even on pc, look at the fidelity of the titles with major destruction like noita, teardown or deep rock galactic, bf6 is nowhere near that level of total destruction but its mix of high fidelity and good enough destruction is already too much for sw2 i guess)
