You like me, you really really like me!
Are they just down or what? So far everyone I've asked says that Bungie.net is not displaying their level on rumble pit.
Well the only way to do that would be an 'invisible' ranking system. The rankings exist and stay as they are, they're just not displayed to you.Wario64 said:There goes my level 16 ranking. Good job Bungie...I have to pad my rankings yet again just to play with equally skilled players
This is stupid, who gives a shit about rankings...I just want to play with good players. Ranking systems kills online games since people are so uptight about their record

sometimes i've seen as many as 3 columns say no games played...
Fowler said:Out of curiousity -- if I go and play now with the stats all screwy, will it still add what I do to my old stats? I kinda want to play Halo now, but if it's not going to count on my stats there's no point![]()
oh ... damn ... in that case, i guess they either fucked up or are testing the waters to see what people think about stat resets...Wario64 said:But the thing is that the stats are actually reset this time. I just went online and my ranking for rumble pit is indeed level 1.
I want my level 16 back, I dont like playing against noobs![]()

i wonder how many people would go out of their way to cheat if stats were reset every month...

That's almost as stupid as the people who quit when they're losing. I've been in a two-person party in a Team Slayer match where the other two teammates quit, and it's really annoying, but banning them isn't the answer. Sometimes you just have to leave, and I wouldn't want to worry about being banned just because someone on the other side of the world is upset for the next ten minutes of a game.Kuroyume said:Bungie should just start banning anyone who quits a game. I don't know how Bungie's matchmaking works, but it doesn't seem like it'd be that hard to have an auto-balancing feature so if someone quits a new player joins. Or at least turn on the in-built auto-balance so the other team can be just as inconvenienced.

It was on midship and every time I was near him with a sword or in a position where he was unfavored, the game would sorta disconnect and I wouldn't be able to do anything. Then the game would magically connect again 5 seconds later and I'd be dead. Is that the standby cheat? No wonder these assholes have a high ranking
Probably wasn't actually from StK - try searching for gamertags on bungie.net, and you'll find a shitton of people with StK in their tags, most of whom aren't the genuine article. There's something like 20 variations on 'StK OGRE' alone :lolIt was a StK guy too with an overall rank of 27.
if it was the now connecting etc blah blah blue screen, then yes, you got standby'd.Wario64 said:I think I just played against a cheater on head to head. How would you do this? The shooting in Halo is balanced in such a way that buffing somebody's shields or life a little can play hell with the reliablity of certian weapons and tactics.Demigod Mac said:Give a handicap bonus to the team with a quitter.

Wish something could be be done to aid an unfortunate threesome whose fourth bails, but that ain't the way. Maybe make 'em faster? Or more ammo?
