I don’t have time to play things on release. Very few games anyhow that I can justify the cost at full price when I know they will usually drop quickly.
Why on earth would I want to pay full price for something when I can get it for cheaper. It’s the publishers responsibility to convince me, not mine to keep the industry afloat.
This wasn’t true some years ago but absolutely is these days. I almost never buy games at launch anymore, I don’t mind waiting a few months or even a few years.

I don't buy many games anymore, so for the few I do buy I don't mind getting them day 1. Like this year I was glad to support Stellar Blade and Astro Bot at full price. The other two I bought (Rebirth and Space Marine 2) were decent enough. Though in hindsight I should have skipped Space Marine 2 but my friend convinced me to get it for co-op (only for us to play it like 3 times lol).
