Bernie Sanders demands Democratic Party reforms

He's not in a position to make demands. He lost by 4 million votes. This will only happen if Clinton supports it, not because Bernie demanded it.

No.3 would Corbynify your party along with same day registration for a Party primary.

In more American parlance you learnt after fucking McGovern not to play that shit.

lol.

Nah. Not giving up Supers and having a Trump like situation on the left. I'm sure he would love that seeing as he doesn't care for the party, but no thanks. Dudes been a democrat all of a year now and wants to demand that they restructure everything.

What about caucuses, Bernie?

He doesn't actually CARE about these issues. Caucuses helped him, so it wouldnt be shocking if they were absent from his demands.

No fucking way should supers go away. I'm also anti-open primary cause you know you can always join the party if you want to participate in the primary. And fuck off on demand leadership change.

"Hey guys I just started playing League of Legends last week and I had some balance suggestions!"

The DNC can't just force states to have open primaries or same day voter registration. Those things need to pass the state legislatures and be signed into law by the governors. The party can pass a resolution in favor of it at the convention but the party itself can't really do much.

giving up super delegates so we can risk a left-trump situation?

LOL fade back into obscurity already please. let warren, clinton, obama, biden, and the other adults handle things

that amount of sad, unreasonable, misguided, petty rage this elderly man holds in his heart cannot be healthy for him

I kind of agree with 1 and 4 and am not a Bernie fan. We should move to closed primaries only. No more caucuses or open. Only Dem voters, because that's who the Dem nominee is supposed to represent. I also think that with the Republican Party is imploding we can make more progressive chances than we have had in years.

frankly I don't really have any issue with those demands but I would add that caucuses should be removed.

We do need election reform.

You say that as if it was a bad thing.

1 and 2 he may get. I mean, DWS is losing her seat anyway so it will happen the DNC is willing or not.

Super delegates may too be erased. They are not popular (as a method) with the electorate at large or with pundits.

I am glad Sanders is willing to use his mandate, though.

1. New DNC chair - Go fuck yourself Bernie

2. no more closed primaries - why? People that aren't Democrats shouldn't have a say in who the party elected

3. No more superdelegates - Fuck no! The party needs a safe guard againsts a Trump like situation or from people like YOU Bernie

4. Progressive - Go fuck yourself Bernie, it already has a progressive platform

He has really turned into a petulant child these past few months.

He is really losing any respect he had gained with many.

Superdelegates are only thing keeping us between Democratic nominations being decided solely in shady backrooms.

They're also the only thing that actually kept Bernie Sanders in the race. "Flipping the superdelegates" has been his only viable option for what a month now and that goes away with no superdelegates.

And open primaries leads to all kinds of cross-party hogwash.

Should say no caucuses instead

Give me one reason why the Democratic Party should not be as progressive as social democrat parties in Europe.
Because in a two party system you need to lean more towards the center to get votes to get in power. You can't just do a hard left an expect everyone to follow.

You seem mad, GAF. A lot of this stuff is fine, he's dropping out Thursday and endorsing Hilary the party will be united, no reason to continue with your Sanders hate-boner when he wants to take the votes that he earned to the convention to try and push the policies that got him a decent chunk of the vote.

This all seems reasonable.

Why won't the democratic party implement these changes?

1. People like the current DNC chair*.
2. Closed primaries are good for the party. They force people to register as Democrats, which makes them more likely to vote Democratic.
3. Superdelegates are vital for preventing Donald Trump (or Kanye West) from capturing the nomination.
4. This is fine, we have a progressive platform already.

* I mean, they don't, but the DNC does.
