Bernie Sanders demands Democratic Party reforms

He's got a nomination to win.

He lost ages ago, and at this point it's completely impossible. If he doesn't realize this, he's an idiot (and most likely the speech he gives today will be his concession speech)

More likely it's related to how is voting record on gun control has never been very great in the first place

Well if ever there was a chance to help turn that around....

Sure, if a party wants to allow it they are free to do so.

However - usually people join a party so a particular set of values are represented. If everyone picks your canditate, chances are those won't be.

Let's say you have open primaries in a deeply red state. Why would you?

But i'm not american, so maybe i'm missing something important.

6 months is too soon, but this is why NY is closed on both sides. There are simply so many Democrats in the state, that if the DNC wanted to, they could pick both winners comfortably.

It's fun to be bitter, but there is no benefit to closed primaries.

I'd argue there's no benefit to open primaries. You'll just get decreased party membership, which turns your side of the aisle away from being an organized machine with structure into a rambling "movement" like OWS. Living in a red state, I'll take organization over that any day.

Well in Nevada, Clinton got more delegates after receiving more votes. Fraud!

In Arizona, Clinton won the primary vote after the Republican Party reduced the number of polling locations in urban areas heavily favoring Clinton, and then the Clinton campaigned sued the state of Arizona. Fraud!

I love how you keep ignoring any posts that are inconvenient to your message

I really want him to respond to Aaron Strife's post here, but of course, he won't. Remember, Clinton wins are FRAUD but Sanders shenanigans are just him fighting the system, man.

As much as I can be, but its been a busy week at work so all I saw was a headline on CNN that a filibuster was happening

The reason that I put this out there is that gun regulation and reform is one of the number one progressive policy needs of the country right now. It's wildly popular across party lines and 49 LGBT Americans were just slaughtered this week due in part to loose gun regulations.

This is/ was a real opportunity for Sanders to lead, to energize his base around the issue and to simply show up to his job in the Senate and actually BE revolutionary. I'm personally having a very hard time making sense out of his absence around the issue.

Sanders doesn't his priorities straight and isn't on message in times of crisis or tragedy.
Pretty telling how is would handle tough situations if he we President

Because Sanders has tunnel vision when it comes to issues and really only focuses on a few issues

Ok, then why haven't I seen a response about how any of the accusations of voter fraud in Arizona and other places actually hurt Clinton more because proportionally the people losing their ability to vote are far more likely to be minorities, a group who have shown and overwhelming preference for Clinton over Bernie based on polls and voting records?
He's not gonna answer this.

You seem mad, GAF. A lot of this stuff is fine, he's dropping out Thursday and endorsing Hilary the party will be united, no reason to continue with your Sanders hate-boner when he wants to take the votes that he earned to the convention to try and push the policies that got him a decent chunk of the vote.

The people here on GAF are the small vocal minority of the democratic party who get to spread hate and and tell people to fuck off all day because mods DGAF.
It's one of the few places they get away with being dicks.

Nah. Thanks for the recomendation though.

How about reading the first part of my post.

I have no idea what "#Guccifer2 stuff" is and if you want anyone to care about it, you should explain to us what it is and why we should care.

If you're going to stubbornly ignore responses to your arguments that were posted literally immediately before you made your argument, then I don't see why anyone should try to interact with you.

Sanders or not, demand #1 has come to pass: DWS is out as DNC head, Brandon Davis, previously the national political director for the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) is in.

Not sure if it'll mollify Sanders at all, Davis was hand-picked by the Clinton campaign for the DNC head.

EDIT: Before the crazies come out, note that this is typical behavior for the DNC and the presidential campaign. Once a nominee is in place, that nominee's campaign takes over the national DNC reins for the course of the election.

"Spread hate"? "Get away with being dicks"?

I want you to challenge yourself to answer a couple questions honestly:

-If Sanders had won and Clinton was demanding structural changes and heavy influence over Sanders' platform, how would you respond?

-If Clinton had demanded sway over Obama's platform (when that race was much, much closer than this one is) how do you think that would have been received?

This "both sides!!!" bullshit is such nonsense. How politically ignorant do you have to be to think that?

It really isn't.. Both support a foreign policy which puts the US as the world policeman. Both support the military industrial complex. Both accept millions of dollars in campaign funds from the largest banks and corporations in the country. Both support the war on drugs and the prison industrial complex

Neither side wants to end the war on drugs. Neither wants to end the war on terror. Neither wants to install a universal healthcare system. Both want to support a system that puts money in the pockets of the insurance companies instead

Again, one side wants to be slightly less evil than the other, but they're both evil in the end. Wake me up when we're not the only first world country on the planet without universal healthcare, when we're not the world leading nation in incarcerations, and we're not in an ongoing war that has lasted 15 years

He had time for a press conference at his office, in Dc, to stump. Maybe traffic was bad to the Senate

i can personally vouch that it was. Our local public transit is going through a shitfit after massive safety failures, so our streets are filled with 1/3rd more passenger vehicles than normal.
