Bernie Sanders = Ron Paul

This is blowing my mind because I never thought the left would devolve into this similarly ridiculous ideology but it has. Bernie is basically mirroring what Ron Paul did on the right in 2008 and 2012. Neither of them ever had a chance and yet you get these threads here of people saying "oh man, he had a few thousand and sold out at this arena, he's gonna win!" It's incredible how much it seems like its the same thing. I guess support him if you enjoy it but please know how utterly pointless it is.

False.

Look at actual policy

Bernie aligns with americans on lots of big issues.

The only thing the two have in common is that both of their supporters are creepy fanatics who jump down your throat if you don't acknowledge them as the Second Coming of Christ.

That said, at least Sanders has some decent (if VERY naive/idealistic) policies.

Paul (and his son) are just fucking insane.

Im not American so I haven't read in great detail his policies, but they appear to me as providing strong middle incomes, pensions, and a stop to pandering to the 0.01%.

Letting a tiny minority of the population run off with all the money is idealistic as fuck and that was able to happen.

Yep. Young people get enamored by ideologues because they still live in a sheltered black and white world. You grow up and realize it is all bullshit and some ideology doesn't solve problems. I got old Ron Paul stickers I would like to burn to prove it.

What kind of bullshit post is this? What does being white have to do with it. What

He means black and white thinking as in there are only two choices. "Complete totalitarianism or anarchy." "State schools or no schools." "Left twix or right twix." So on.

How the hell is that idealistic when "Money Buys Power" has been a proven fact since the dawn of civilization?

yeah but did Ron Paul get a Lil B cosign?

Now to see who the curse falls on in the campaign trail.

One thing that really ticks me off in threads like this is the whole "x isn't gonna win so don't vote for them" shtick. Having your voice heard is always a good thing and with that attitude you will never get the changes you want.

Definitely both are some of the best Presidential candidate in either election. Obama, Hilary, Romney, Perry, Cain all those are complete flipfloppers who serve the establishment. Ron Paul and Bernie Sanders serve their constituents who have elected them and backed them because a lot of their ideas make sense - while treading at the same place for two decades makes no sense. The country has been getting worst from the 50s on-wards with a huge wealth gap, some of the worst healthcare, education and control over the industries in the civilized world. In a normal democracy we wouldn't have such a death-lock of inertia - new ideas, parties, causes will take root instead of being swallowed by the stagnation of the two party system. Where you need to win a lengthy and costly nomination process just to present your ideas to the masses. Where people need to appeal to the lowest common denominator instead of focusing on their ideas and their hopes.

It's a said state of affairs where perfectly normal political and geopolitical ideas get such scourge by uneducated people.

Not American, but I think the main thing he'll accomplish by running is the base of party will actually have left wing policies discussed.
