Best AGP video card under ~$200?

I have PCI-E .... :-/

The 9800 is by all accounts a good card, and it apparently runs The Source engine faster than the GT6600 (which apparently runs the Doom3 engline faster).

I don't want the best, cause my freaking current system would just bottle neck it.

it still doesn't make sense to not drop the extra $40 and get the better card. You could keep that card and use it when you upgrade the rest of the comp later. Hell, i'm still using my 9500 pro that I got two years ago, and it runs almost everything out there just fine.

Yes it does, cause my next motherboard will be PCI express.

Then why drop $200 on a card right now? I'm sorry, I just don't understand the logic that you're using. Unless you're filthy rich and are just looking for filler right now. And if that were the case, i'd still recommend the 6600 GT.

Well I don't plan to overhaul the whole system until atleast a year.

Well then tell us what your mobo, RAM and CPU is so we can better match them with the possible vid card. Maybe 9600Pro is a better match than a 9800Pro. Who knows?

How about a for a Athlon XP 1900+ and 512mb of RAM (going to upgrade to a gig in the next couple months)? I really just want to be able to run WoW nicely. My current Ati AIW Radeon 7500 just isn't cutting it...

Well I just ordered it. I have no doubt it'll perform as good as I want, and it's under 200 dollars which was my threshold. By the time I'm ready to upgrade the whole shibang it'll be showing it's age.

Did I mention my motherboard doesn't support AGP 8x which that card needs.
all cards are AGP8X now. None of them NEED it.

I'd say the 9800pro 128Mbs is the best available right now.
