Best and worst looking Pokemon from each generation

It was really disappointing that Luvdisc doesn't evolve from that other Gen V fish.

Not nearly to the same degree as the past several generations have, and I already said 'weird' designs were fine. As long as they're not overly complicated and cluttered for no reason other than to look unique.

also find it weird to have the 'nostalgia goggles' line thrown at me after praising the newest game but okay

It's nostalgic if somehow the older stuff are exempted despite doing the same thing.

Look at that amazingness people. LOOK AT IT.

And his evolved form is great as well :3

For some reason, I like the look of the first and second generation (probably third too) of Pokemon because they resembled living/non-living things you see, but in the latter generations most of the new Pokemon look like aliens.

I bet if you took an actual count of categories across generations you would find they are all pretty close. Animal type to human-like to mystical are all relatively similar across Gens.

They've gotten really lazy with these newer gen designs I see.

False. Behold, the king of all cool; the master of moxie, the ruler of all Pokémon from Gen V and beyond, the Don Juan cherry tempo, SCRRRRRAAAFFTYYYYYYY!

I'm not going to post any "worst" designs, because I truly believe now that there isn't any Pokémon whose designs is bad enough to warrant civilized discussion.

Swinub is my favorite pig Pokemon.

Heracross is awesome, though. Creative too.

Swinub is my favorite pig Pokemon.

Same here. And it's surprising strong as well - one time I very nearly soloed a sandstorm team with it (in Battle Revolution's online mode). Too bad its rampage was cut short by an untimely confusion self-hit, and I had to finish off the guy's weakened Tyranitar with Eevee's Quick Attack...

I really like the really dumb looking Pokemon. The ones that try to look bad ass are just dull to me.

Oh! And Munchlax is the the illest Pokemon of all time. That dude is awesome.

Still haven't played 4th gen so I won't comment on it but:

(apologies for the obnoxious size differences)

Edit- I left out the babies. Smoochum for example is just too terrible to count.

My team has always consitsed of my favortie looking pokemon

1: Raichu (for the freaking win)

2: Blastoise

3: Umbreon

4: Salemnce

5: Lucario

6: Arcanine

My least favorite looking?

Hmmm

Bidoof :P

i love watching how, from generation to generation, Pokemon gradually degraded from sorta-animals to an art school student's drugged-up squiggles (and not in a bad way, either; i think it's awesome lol)

So much hate for object focused pokemon, Vanilluxe is kind of clever damn you! the icicle cone! the snow cloud! and it goes together to make an Ice Cream!
And Garbodor's burst bag mask and junk pipe arm makes me smile.

Still as long as no one says they're uninspired, if anything their crazy appearances are very unique in the pile of mons based on a standard animal.
Now Bronzor, that guy's just like a floating coin so send your object based hate to him.

Best

Gen 1

Gen 2

Such a hard choice, I loved almost all Gen 2 Pokemon equally.

Gen 3

Gen 4

Gen 5

Just couldn't choose between the two.

Worst

Gen 1
65dH7.png

Creepy.

Gen 2
105px-238Smoochum.png

I don't dislike any Gen 2 designs, Smoochum is simply the one I care the least about.

Gen 3
115px-370Luvdisc.png

Complete and utter waste of Pokedex space.

Gen 4
AoOKu.png

Togetic is one of my favourite Pokemon, it has a sweet, almost fairy like appearance. Togekiss is nothing more than a large blob with ridiculous "wings".

Gen 5
T4sQz.png

I seriously have no idea what the fuck that abomination is meant to be - by far the worst design.

Azure Phoenix also has a list according to my tastes.

I'm still trying to decide if I dislike Jynx and Mr. Mime or not.

I don't dislike object based Pokemon, I dislike objects used I think are ridiculous. There is a certain level that comes into the line of where I just can't comprehend it's significance.
An edible object, or a bag used for waste.

1st Gen: Lapras, Blastoise, Ninetales, Pikachu (=P)
2nd Gen: Typhlosion, Umbreon, Crobat, Lugia (best legendary~)
3rd Gen: Swampert, Absol, Flygon, Metagross
4th Gen: Honchkrow, Piplup (yeah, wasn't a huge fan of this gen)
5th Gen: Haxorus, Samurott, Volcarona, Krookodile

Thought that evolution line was pretty clever. It's basically a fetus. Solosis (single-cell organism) -> Duosion (single-cell organism undergoing mitosis) - Reuniclus (Multicelled organism)

Look at this smug jerk. You can't top that.

Too bad its evolutions suck. I find it really ironic that when they unveiled the starters I thought Oshawott was the worst, but then I chose it because its final evolution is the bet out of the GEN V starters.

The Ice Cream idea is a bit odd, if it was like a standard wafer cone and wasn't so adorably cheerful i'd probably raise an eyebrow myself but as far as ice creams go they did pretty well.
Garbodor looks suitably hideous, I mean everyone loved Muk and he was just a pile of muck, Garbodor is the Gen 5 spiritual successor and is hated for being garbage? now Gulpin and Swalot the "poison bags", they are pretty lame, Swalot is like a lamer muk with a stache and obligatory Gen 3 pattern, i'm glad with Garbodor they tried a bit harder than that.
Of course you can dislike them but most people seem to just base it off "well it's not an animal so it sucks and is lazy".

You know who I don't like? Ferroseed and Ferrothorn, never see much dislike for them which I find kind of strange, they're not endearing at all. I guess Pineco gets a pass by being attached to Forretress who is a pretty cool concept for a bagworm.
Speaking of Bagworms why the hell is Wormadam even a thing that was needed?

The thing that bugs me about Reuniclus is that it looks like a first or possibly second stage, not a third. It could have become something awesome, but it looks like they designed backwards from there.

People's love for Scraggy and Scrafty baffles me beyond belief. O_O

I guess you can't argue with personal aesthetics.

Hell, I think Garbodor and Probopass are rad.
