Best beat makers in Rap?

I'd have to say Dre is straight up the man when it comes to making amazing beats. So consistent over the years. Can't think of anyone better.

I also like Neputnes beats too, but they're really hit or miss.

(Edit: inspiration for this thread is The Game's "Hate it or Love it" shitty rappers, but such an awesome, classic Dre beat)

Can I use this thread to ask for some club bangers? I'm in that mood. I just listened to "XXX'd" by J-Kwon, and I need more.

I agree with this, am I one of the only who thinks 50 cent is a really poor poor rapper?

Fergie from B.E.P has atlesat twice the ability he does

He's notthe best lyricist obviously, but he has perfected his flow, so you have to give him credit for that. Couple that with the fact that he's a marketing genius that knows hwo to play the media to his advantage.

Oh for sure, Dre's beats are wasted on 50, he can't do them justice. The Game isn't as bad, but still, he isn't great. Dre needs to work with more talent like Em.

50 is godawful. Unless you like listening to people with lockjaw rap, in which case he's mmmsomm... immm intuhhh havinnn sexx ahh ainnnt intuhhh makinn luvv. only reason 50 has a job is cuz dre gave him that fuckin awesome beat for In Da Club

dre is awesome. Timbaland doesn't get the props he deserves... he can flat out produce some sweet ass beats.

Ah yes, I knew I was forgetting someone. Timbaland is awesome, probably right behind Dre for me.

only reason 50 has a job is cuz dre gave him that fuckin awesome beat for In Da Club

This is the 100% truth.

oh yeah... ya know, em can actually produce a few awesome beats. The beat he gave Jay Z for 'Moment of Clarity' is really, really good. Dark but makes ya bounce.

kanye has some good beats he makes, too.

and if you ever want a straight ghetto theme that you can bounce from your trunk and get bitches to drop their panties to, you gotta look at lil jon. From "yeah" to "40 oz" to "salt shaker"... the beats are catchy. he can't rap for shit, and the highlight of his career was probably the dave chapelle sketches, but still...

Well, I could make a long ass list of dope producers, from Organized Noise to Mannie Fresh, Pete Rock to DJ Paul & Juicy J, Kutmasta Kurt to Alchemist, etc...but here's my list in no certain order:

RZA
Madlib
Premier
Prince Paul
Automator
Shadow

Em is garbage production wise, and Dre hasn't made a beat I've felt since Doggystyle. His whole "producer" moniker can be called into question.

OH MY GOD! I can't believe I forgot about RZA!!! And Shadow, too.... tight shit.

and I wouldn't give Mannie Fresh any credit. He's a poor mans Lil Jon, even though he's been doing it longer. I don't think "Get ya roll on" counts as 'good material'. personal opinion, though.

That's because "Get Your Roll On" isn't within a light year of Mannie's better work. Lil Jon's music is what it is, and it serves its purpose, but he isn't touching Mannie Fresh in any way.

Dj Premier
Kanye West
Warren G
Dr. Dre
Dj Glaze
Jazze Pha
Pimp C
DR Period
Beatnuts
P.F. Cuttin'
Ant Banks

and my all time favorites:
Organized Noize

and i just know i'm forgetting someone important

Timbaland and Dre easily (Save some of the good ones for Detox, Dre >_<!!!). Kanye too, but he sharks beats WAAAAAAAY too much... a lot more than Puffy used to. He just puts his own drum beat on it, and calls it his. Still like 'em, tho. I don't know about Eminem tho... all his songs sound the same to me, they all have that dark, bouncy, kinda thing to them. I can't explain it well, but I guess he just doesn't vary it enough. Dre and Timbo are geniuses, though. And Neptunes, the Drop It Like It's Hot Remix and La-la-la alone are enough for them to be on here. Just Blaze also, even though it's sometimes hit or miss, he can push out a banger every now and then.
And I guess Hi-Tek for his stuff with Kweli.

Kanye West - A soul vibe with some hiphop, genius!
Dr.Dre
Lil' John
Timbaland
Ali Shaheed Mohammad

I don't really know the beat-makers name, only the rappers so it's an imcomplete list

Timbaland
Dre
Organized Noise
Mannie Fresh
Beatnuts

I think Beatnuts are way underrated for beatmaking. They make some consistently hot shit.

Like what beats? I dont really know beatnuts a lot

Try their album "Stone Crazy". Best album for you to listen to as an introduction, because it's probably their best. Get the song "Off the Books" or "Uncivilized" off that album for a taste of what they do.

How about Jay Dee? Underappeciated for his stellar work with Tribe Called Quest, Q-Tip (Vivrant Thing, Give it What You Got), and Pharcyde's Labcabincalifornia, among others.

You guys should check out my friend's site - www.1995abeat.com. He sells beats online, but there's some free stuff on there as well as free remixes for d/l (definitely check out his remix of "How We Do", I *almost* prefer it to the original, but just barely :P).

Just Blaze - produced one of the sickest beats last year, "Breathe"

I'm not a huge fan of Just Blaze's work, but Breathe is extremely ill, especially considering that the Supertramp song it samples doesn't even say "breathe." He chopped it up nicely.

Mathematics you like ol school RZA.
Co-sign on Manny Fresh.

But for my money, the heat right now is with none other than...

...Kanyezee, chumps.

Check Common's new BE album if you're not sure. Go ahead, it's ComSense and you KNOW you wanna.

I like Dre, Neptunes, Kanye and Just Blaze. I don't know about "best beat makers in rap", but they make stuff I like.

Right now Timberland is the hottest... Dre, Mannie Fresh, David Banner, Lil John, Kanye, Rick Rock, Sam Bostic, DJ Quik, are all in the runnings... Dre as the best track record by far!

CHOPS "The Magnificent Butcher"

Check out his Producer album "Virtuosity" featuring Raekwon, Kanye West, Planet Asia, Daz Dillinger, Talib Kweli, and more.

Chops was originally from the Mountain Brothers, who won the Sprite rap contest and later were only used in the Radio commercial instead of the TV commercial because they were all Asian.
