Best current 360 title?

PDZ, it will last you the longest if you like online ... i doubt i will even switch over to Halo 3 when it comes out as my main online FPS, i just love the modes and guns to much in PDZ...

PGR3 is another great one, but the online isnt as fun, since most people on Live are douche bags ( which doesnt matter so much in a FPS since your killing them anyway...but in sim ish racers its anoying since people play it like wipeout or mario kart when its not =/ )

Condemned and Kameo are wicked games, but once ya beatem your done....

GAF Gas on fire statement...

KICK ASS LINEUP, best launch ever.

You can almost close your eyes and pick any game and be happy. Even Gun has some people liking it!

If you have Live, as has been said, PDZ is the best game by far. I can't stop playing the damn thing! Geo Wars is kick ass pick up and play, "just one more game" fun.

CoD2 is a shock. Kameo is a stunning act adv. PGR Live Carreer is endless great races with reward. Kong is simple, beautiful, and a nice add to the movie experience. RR6 is pure RR fun. NFS is great chases. Condemmed is beautiful, scary (though I get lost too much:)). Quake is old school fps, with very twitch online play. Robotron/Gauntlet/Joust/Smash TV are old arcade in 720 with online play and leaderbaords!...

And we are days from DOA4.

So, pick as you will. Have fun!

I just got mine on Chrsitmas, but, so far..

1. Call of Duty 2
2. Perfect Dark Zero
3. Condemned
4. King Kong

They are all good though, im picking up Quake IV & Dead or Alive 4 soon though

I have Need for Speed, but I haven't opened that (free from Pepsi).

When I exchange that, there's a slight chance that I'll pick up DOA4.

My experience with the Xbox 360 lineup is limited, but I can wholeheartedly recommend Condemned. Kameo can be fun but is flawed, and PDZ is a goofy but entertaining multiplayer FPS.

Also, Xbox Live Arcade is a must. Dive in. Geometry Wars and Wik: Fable of Souls are my favorites so far.

I haven't bothered to dig out the 50ft of ethernet I will need, how many points would Geo Wars, Joust, Wik, Robotron, and Smash TV run me?

Depends on the game.

You're going to pay at least 5 bucks, if not 12.50. It's a bit steep in some cases. The cheapest games seem to be 400 points.

In order of preference:

1) PD0 (strictly for the multiplayer)
2) Mutant Storm
3) Condemned
4) CoD2
5) Geometry Wars
6) Ridge Racer

Man, CoD2 would have been so much better if there weren't framerate issues. I swear, for all that 60 fps talk, it just couldn't hold it. As I said earlier, it's like Sega Rally 2 on the DC. It DOES do 60 at times...but everytime the action heats up, the framerate drops.

If it were just REALLY HEAVY action, that would be fine, but even just looking towards a battle field with a few dudes shooting it up causes you to drop. Everytime you really need 60 fps, the game can't hold it.

Yeah, I just bought 1600 marketplace points from Gamestop... is there a list of items and the points they cost anywhere? I think I read that Geo Wars was 400.

Oh, and I paid $19.99 for the card.

Heh, that didn't take long to find.

--Bankshot Billiards 2 (1,200 points = $12.50)--PixelStorm
--Bejeweled 2 (800 points = $10)--Popcap
--Gauntlet (400 points = $5)--Midway
--Geometry Wars Evolved (400 points = $5)--Bizzare Creations
--Hardwood Backgammon (400 points = $5)--Silver Creek
--Hardwood Hearts (400 points = $5)--Silver Creek
--Hardwood Spades (400 points = $5)--Silver Creek
--Joust (400 points = $5)--Midway Home Entertainment
--Mutant Storm Reloaded (800 points = $10)--PomPom
--Outpost Kaloki (800 points = $10)--Wahoo
--Robotron 2084 (400 points = $5)--Midway
--Smash TV (400 points = $5)--Midway
--Wik: Fable of Souls (800 points = $10--Reflexive
--Zuma (800 points = $10)--Popcap

Meh.

Best of the best...

PGR3 - best online play, and just extremely fun

COD2- best single player, and unbelieveably intense

Geometry Wars - best Live arcade game, very pretty

Kameo - gorgeous game, simple controls, but overall very fun. Camera makes me a bit sick
sometimes though, lol

Worst of the worst...

PDZ - I know a lot of people love the game, but the single player is laughably bad, and online
just does not feel right to me. Characters just skate around in multiplayer and makes me cringe everytime I play it.

Madden - Are you ready for some football? Well, Madden isn't. Stripped down EA garbage.
Some fun can be had if you have buddies to play against, but playing online is
laggy as hell.

Well, those are all the games I own. I'm going to pick up Codemned soon. Really looking forward to it. I love games with that type of atmosphere.

NHL 2K6 for me! Actually improved over the Xbox/PS2 versions from a gameplay POV.

If I could get onto Live Arcade, I'd be playing the shiznit out of it!

What's up with your LIVE, FFF?

It's definitely worth noting that although the prices for Xbox Live Arcade games should seem ridiculous to most rational human beings, these do feel like genuine arcade experiences, and not cheap NES ports. So if you're feeling like some microtransactions, skip the Kameo gamer picture and go for these.

D/Ling but with some fear in my heart that you somehow found a vid of tubgirl....

EDIT: That's right. Now I remember reading about your issues. That is shitty beyond words. =(

I live in Northern Alberta and it could be my small time Cable Internet provider...but on the other hand as you'll see in the vid, just right after the cameo by tubgirl, my 360 can connect to Live in the test portion.

So I'm gonna try it in Calgary over Shaw on my days off. My bro's 360 connects fine there.

I'm not steaming pissed, but my only regret is that I formatted my drive and lost Hexic...WHICH IS NOT DOWNLOADABLE!! :( It should be sometime in January...hopefully!

Xbox Live's content is puzzling to me because it seems as though someone could create a CD that unlocks the non-trial version of everything. You only need to burn a BC update CD. I tried that and it worked perfectly.

Yeah I did that and it didn't work. But it brings up an important issue regarding the hackability of the console...couldn't that program be analyzed and stuff? It was an .xex file (opposite of exe :P) and it changed the OS. Sorta interesting.

Anyways, I don't want to derail this thread! This is the end of it! :P If anyone has any suggestions regarding my problem, please post it here: http://www.ga-forum.com/showthread.php?t=76813&highlight=format

As far as best current title goes, I think some answers will change once DoA 4 comes out. I have a weird feeling that it will surprise a lot of people (as far as gameplay is concerned).

Great: CoD2, Condemned, Geometry Wars, PGR3, Mutant Storm Reloaded, Outpost Kaloki X

Good: Kameo, RR6, NFS, PDZ, Zuma, Hexic HD, Bejwelled, Wik, Hardwood Backgammon, Joust, Gauntlet, Robotron, Smash TV

Fair: Hardwood Hearts, Hardwood Spades, Bankshot Billiards

I wish I could get inside the head of people that enjoy PDZ. I borrowed the game and the game controls so poorly that I can't get into it. Really shows how great Halo 2's system is.

PGR3, COD2, and Condemned are my picks. NFS:MW would be on there if the cop chases didn't suck.

Your gaming skills suck.. you need someone to hold your hand.

PDZ controls are fine by me.

yeah PDZ controlls fine, took me a while to get used to it, but now its great....lots of people i know who dont like it were Halo whores ...and so they dont even give it a chance since its not Halo with differant levels/models/guns, once you get used to it its way better than Halo, Halo is great, but only what CTF, deathmatch and Team deathmatch were any good imo ....PDZ has all those and then other modes that are much better, and better guns to kill people with !

Had a friend play coop in Perfect Dark with me,he's part of the Halo crowd. The idiot went around gunning everyting in sight and failed our mission. So yes the Halo crowd will probably have a hard time adjusting to the game.

I love both PGR3 and Perfect Dark, worth every penny. Condemned and COD2 I have not opened yet since I'd rather put more time into two games rather than 4 right now.

And holy shit-I must have missed the demos on the market place my first time around. EA are seriously ahead of the pack with all their demos, wow. I tried out Fifa(the first soccer game I have played since the Genny days) and it seems fun. Good going EA,hopefully more companies get with the program and make demos available as soon as possible.

Call of Duty 2 is the BEST game on the Xbox 360, hands-down.

There's a reason it's the number one selling launch title.

Condemned: Criminal Origins comes in a close second for me. Great atmosphere, excellent sound effects, and some cool features make this one of the most unique games in a long time. I was on the edge of my seat for every time I'd run into a bum / crackhead.

Too bad it didn't outsell Perfect Dark Zero. What a bastardized version of a classic. Multiplayer was the only thing that saved this game from begin a joke.

Close, but no cigar.

PGR3 is definitely the most polished launch title. Anyone who says otherwise hasn't spent any time with the game. A racer isn't that complex anyhow.
