Best Date Movies of All Time

I just got back from my boyfriends house after enjoying one of the date movies EVER. He went to the video store earlier and rented a movie that still makes me cry even though I've seen it 4 times so far.

The Notebook

Yeah it's a chick flick, and I like them (some). Chances are so does your girlfriend, but watching this movie with your significant other will win you points especially if they haven't seen it before. :3

So anyways, in your experiance with members of the opposite(or same for GAYFFERS) what are the best date movies of all time?

I dunno... the secretary? :lol

Going an actual cinema for a date kinda sucks imo. Need something way more social.. watching at home wouldn't be so bad.

Happiness. If she likes it you know she's either a keeper or horribly fucked up. If she doesn't like it, she wasn't going to get along with you anyway.

And in this hypothetical, you = me.

Seriously though, I see people refer to Hitch a lot. Though, I've a strong dislike of Will Smith's "love monologues" throughout it.

Sleepless in Seattle got my hands on the boobies for the first time, so it will forever hold a spot in my heart.

I've had success with Raiders of the Lost Ark.

I also had memorable success with The English Patient, but only because my date and I were both of the inclination to laugh at the movie, not get all choked up by it.

You sure? It's a really really really slow-paced film. Figure it would bore the hell out of them.

I was kidding on that one. (Though it rocks.)

When Harry Met Sally is a truly great date movie. Also:

Clueless

Emma

The Terminator (I'm serious on this one! It's a love story.)

The Piano

Girls don't like fast-paced films, especially when they fall into the Sci-fi genre. I find you can get girl to watch anything by saying it isn't (just) an action movie, is rather intelligent and is basically a character drama.

Hmm, now that it's up the in air, I think I might try using Blade Runner next time. But I'm wondering if it's a bit too slow paced.

I have the Alien Quadrilogy DVD's, I <3 Tombstone, Terminator 1 and 2, JAWS, Robocop, Batman, Dirty Hairy, The Abyss, Die Hard, Bone Collecter, Seven, Silence of the Lambs, Back to the Future, Jurassic Park... just a few of the movies I might call my favorites.

dodgeball got me anal sex for the first time...so im gonna stick with this movie on dates from now on

did she fart during the entire ordeal?

p.s. the best date movie of all time would be Prelude to a Dynasty: The story of the 1980 49ers. and by best date movie i mean the movie that is most likely to get me to date you (even if you're a guy... mmmm!)

+1 Notting Hill.

Also try Two Weeks' Notice, Four Weddings & A Funeral, anything with Hugh Mungo Grant in it, basically.

The Notebook is right up there with Somewhere In Time as a surefire winner.

Shakespeare in Love is a great movie if you are looking to close the deal, but the ultimate date movie is...

My ex loved Big Fish when I took her to see it in theatres.
WWHHHHAAAAATTTT???!!!!! WWWHHHYYYYY???!!!

My boyfriend liked both those movies. O_O He even bought the DVDs when they came out. And that's saying something because he's a stingy-ass cheapskate.

Amelie. It is totally Amelie.

Totally beat me to it.

Big Fish is a good pick as well. Garden State is another good one, and I'd venture to say Sideways, but I think that's probably a little too paced and skews a bit towards being for guys probably for most pople.

Every girl I know loves that movie. That and Wicker Park seem to be all the rage with the ladies these days.

Wicker Park sucked, never saw The Notebook but I will assume that it sucked too.
