So we decided on a few spots to hang while in Florida. Key Largo will be our base of operations,from there we"ll spend time visiting the rest of the keys and then spend some time visiting Miami/South Beach. I also have family in Naples so we will be spending a few days there on our crawl back home. Thanks for all the suggestions,they will come in handy when we return for our next Florida trip.

While you are in Naples you should take a day trip to Sanibel. It's about an hour north

If you're staying in Key Largo, I recommend Alabama Jacks restaurant on Card Sound Rd. It may have the appearance of a biker bar, but it's an open air experience that must be the start of any trip to the area and is as much tourist stop as it is a local place.
