I'm looking at PCIE graphics cards since I was able to get that AMD bundle :D

So what would be a good PCIE graphics card in the sub $250 range.

6800 (vanilla)
x800 XT or Pro

What should I get?

Unless you're finding a really excellent price on the X800 XT(or the XL, for that matter), they're out of the $250 range. The 6800 Vanilla should perform just slightly worse than the X800 Pro, excluding OpenGL-intensive games(Doom 3) where it will take a small lead.

If you're getting a sub-$250 XT or XL on the ATI side, jump on it.

Or run screaming because you're getting taken for a ride :)

How come no one ever mentions the X700 .. did I buy a shitty card?
its a good car, just a little less then I wanted to spend. If my budget was $200, then the X700 would be in that class.
