Best hangover prevention?

I've been taking these hangover pills and Pedialyte powder in water and the combo has been amazing.

Sugar and electrolytes, specifically pedialyte, before you sleep along with 4-6 ibuprofen depending on how drunk you are.

Alternating between alcohol and water and knowing your limits. Eat well before you start drinking and don't overdo it. Slow down/stop before it is too late. It is actually a lot better to enjoy a long evening of slightly drunk to the point where you are in a good mood and open up instead of being a piss drunk annoying person.

It isn't always easy to slow down at the right time, but drinking one glass of water for every bottle of beer (e.g.) helps a lot. Granted you need to visit the toilet probably 5-10 times that evening, but that also helps because you are getting up and walking a bit and don't face the sudden drunkness.

Soak it up with stogdy food.
Neck at least a pint of water straight before bed.

That or do it the Russian way, alternate strong drinks and glasses of water, works a charm.

Drink a lot of water before going to sleep. Lemon water is best. Hangover comes from dehydration so staying hydrated gets rid of it.

Depends on what you're drinking. I never have a hangover after whisky, even when drinking until cutoff, I might be a bit dehydrated the next day but that's it, but give me just 3 beers and my head will almost explode the next day, and what's worse I'll have a heartburn for the a day or two. Vodka is a hit or miss, so I rarely drink it unless there's no other option.

drink lots of water before during and after drinking. And try not to drink on an empty stomach.

that’s all you can do, other than living a generally healthy lifestyle with exercise, diet and lots of water, of course.

And even someone in tip top shape is still going to get a hang over. Just know when it’s time to stop. In the morning, take an aspirin, have a cup of coffee and make some scrambled eggs with white toast and suck it up butter cup 🤣

Pedilyte is already the best you can do.

Do try and drink one glass of water per drink (if you can). Eating something before bed also helps (not something terrible...for me, greek yogurt works...but its really just proteins). Some could argue that something fatty (like avacado) is good because the fat helps slow down the alcohol absorption.

But yeah. Pediltye before you go out and the next morning first thing are the best bets.

I didn't see anyone mention not going to sleep drunk.

That one is key, for me at least. I've known people who disagreed (they were all Asians for some reason).

For me what always worked was: for every two drinks, drink half a bottle of water. The next day you will feel like you didn't drink at all. What usually happens with drinks like beer, for example, is that your brain gets dehydrated thanks to ethanol. If you drink a lot of beer you usually go to the bathroom a lot, because it's a diuretic drink. So keep that body hydrated as much as you can, and the next day you will feel good.

Another one is eating some carbs before drinking. They will help your body prevent the extreme alcohol absorption because of slow digestion.


But I stopped drinking a long time ago. Rarely touch alcohol nowadays because of my university days.

I’ve always had a policy of eating well. I make sure I have a decent enough meal before I go out, and I eat before I go to sleep. It’s always served me well enough. Whether it’s a kebab, a pizza, or some other not that good for me meal it tends to do the job.

Hydration, as everyone else has said, is key. A friend of mine used to swear by the combination of Berocca and Dioralyte, which are UK products but isn’t far off what OP uses. Berocca is a vitamin blast you dissolve in water, and Dioralyte is an electrolyte powder that is meant for dehydration (marketed towards diarrhoea but dehydration is dehydration).

For the worst moments when none of that happened or worked, I used to be able to make myself sick in the morning, which is basically a reset button. When you get rid of what the body is struggling to process, it’s got nothing to moan about. You’re just left hungry. Problem is, that hasn’t worked as well the last couple times I’ve tried it, and I’m not sure if it’s because I’m getting older or because I don’t drink I like I used to.

how bad is it for your body to take ibuprophen the next day after heavy drinking? i'm a pussy when it comes to hangovers so i always take one but not sure if the combination is destroying my liver or something

Honest cure that is practically free:

A pint of water, half a tea spoon of salt, 4 of sugar. Mix and down.

The sugar helps with electrolytes and also removes the feeling of "regret" or anxiety you get after heavy drinking (even if u have not done anything - it is a physical symptom). The salt gets the body to absorb the water.

It has worked for me the past 10 years - I used to drink for 6 hours 4 nights a week; one or two of these and I was right as rain within an hour or two.

Also this is good to treat dysentery induced dehydration. Use it when you get the shits.

Also tip - keep a glass of water by your bed for sips at night and down when you wake up - every day, not just when partying. It will do you wonders.

Try it. You are welcome. Don't waste money on potions that do half a job.

When I was young and visiting Korea and my friends there - This thing saved me multiple times.

I was skeptical about it and seeing that old dude's face on the can was laughable - but my body thanked me later on.
Could be placebo - but in my case, it worked - or my body thought it worked.

These days, I just drink a lot of water, often, and also wait for the #2 to happen. Usually after doing #2 and emptying out my intestine, I feel 100% better.
 
Beside drugs water is the answer.
Still water don’t work for me since I don’t have the discipline to drink water regularly if I’m getting hammered.

I think these are almost the same shit you are taking, but i've heard good things about them. I rarely drink so i wouldn't know. My liver has enough worries as it is without getting shit faced.

Edit: yours are not turmeric, nvm, different shit, maybe you should try it.
Turmeric + black pepper and some fat seems to be the magic cocktail pre drinks.

My rule of thumb is one glass of water for every two shots I take or beers I drink. Then I drink copious amounts of water before bed just to be sure.
