Any premium ice cream, regardless of brand, is usually pretty good. Breyer's is probably my favorite only because their cheaper line is pretty decent quality for the price. It's all about the premium stuff, though.

Blue Bunny, if you can find it. I think most Wal-Marts have it (if you can't find it at a morally decent store).

Haagen-Daz (sp?)

Their vanilla and strawberry (and chocolate chip cookie dough) is excellent. Breyer's and Turkey Hill are good, though, and you can get a half-gallon of each for roughly the same price as a pint of Haagen-Daz around here. :p

Graeters Ice Cream.

I've never found ice cream that good anywhere else. Sadly, it's extremely bad for you, so I choose not to eat it often. Oh man, just thinking about it, though...

Depends on the use... for ice cream that's just damn good to be eaten straight, it's gotta be either Hagen Daaz (their creme brulee ice cream rules) or Ben & Jerry's. For something that's good as a base for a sundae or milkshake, then Dryers (or Edy's, as it's known on the east coast).

I personally have never understood the fascination with Breyers, though. Every time I try it, it's always pretty far away from any sort of "creamy" consistency.

Brownie chunks and cookie dough swirled in chocolate and vanilla ice cream.

As far as I know, it's only a Cincinnati-area kinda thing. They do frozen shipping though.

Hmm, cool. I'm not quite that desperate to try out new ice cream brands, though. ;) :p

Breyer's.

Ben & Jerry's or Haagen-Daz are just so stupidly retarded expensive, not worth it. I don't know why people buy it. You're going to shit it out in less than 24 hours anyway.

It's not that expensive?

Not to long ago, from the mythic land of Texas, came to my supermarket a chilled dairy confection by the name of Blue Bell...Black Walnut to KILL FOR.

But Breyer's has them owned in Natural Vanilla. No syrups, gums, or pointless jaundicing of that product with yellow food dyes, just cow, cane, and orchid.

If I allowed myself to, I'd try Häagen Dasz's Macadamia Brittle. Of course, it would take the spot of my favorite ice cream, but I would also be a 350 pound hambeast within a month, too. :lol

Nah, it's pretty expensive. Not "I'm not gonna buy it because of it" expensive, but compared to other brands, sure; I think it's around $4 per pint here in NY, though I haven't bought it in quite a while-- maybe $3.75 .

I'm not a big fan of Haagen-Daz -- it doesn't have enough air in it, while Breyer's has too much. Ben & Jerry's strikes just the right balance -- not too firm, not too fluffy. Plus they have better flavors than Breyer's. It's worth the extra cost because it's BETTER. :)

From what I've tried I like Breyers black container Vanilla over all for Price, taste and versatility. Another important thing is where you buy the stuff from, if they turn off their freezers at night and let the ice cream melt at all it really ruins it, especially the more natural ice creams without preservatives.

Ben and Jerry's. Between Cherry Garcia, Half-Baked, and Phish Food, it's a wonder other companies even *bother*. ;)

I make my own ice cream :D My Black-Cherry-Koolaid attempt turned into more like a soft serve than an ice cream, but I still liked it.

I like Breyers, Ben & Jerrys, and Haagen Das, but I don't eat ice cream too often. There used to be Penguins Frozen Yogurt places around that I liked, but I'm pretty sure they all died off, that stuff was pretty good though. I'll pretty much eat any kind of ice cream, as long as its not that nasty healthy choice crap that tastes dry.

Cheap, common point-of-sale Ice Cream -- quick consumption on a hot summers day type shit: Walls. Particularly things like Cornetto and Magnum. *drool*

Ice Cream you pay expecting great/the-best taste: I'm gonna go with Haagen Das or Ben & Jerrys. I could eat this stuff til I am sick, then carry on after that.

I liked Magnum's white chocolate ice cream bars when I was on vacation there last year. Very good stuff.
