Let's go back to the days when you could watch cool videos on TV. What is the ultimate, bar-none, best video ever?

I'm going for A-ha's Take On Me.

Most Foo Fighters videos, because of how utterly funny Dave Grohl is in most of them.

Ah-ha? Ah fuckin HA? Fuck you. There's a special place in hell for people with such bad taste. :)

I'm voting Nine Inch Nails "Closer"

Honorable Mentions:
White Zombie's "More Human Than Human"
Tool "Prison Sex"
Rollins Band "Liar"

Sir Mix-a-Lot - Put 'Em On the Glass. I remember seeing that video on Playboy TV like 5 years ago or something and being in heaven.

Real answer: November Rain by Guns 'n Roses. Talk about a huge event leading up to its release.. it didnt disappoint, that's for sure. Another one that had a big lead-up on MTV back in the day was the video for oasis' D'You Know What I Mean which was pretty kickass also.

Lucas With the Lid Off - Lucas

Directed by Michel Gondry. Really, though, you could put just about any video directed by him here.

That Paranoid Android music video with the crude animation, the two poor kids and the congressman, wtf did it meant? I've wondered for years, and would like someone here to explain what the clip meant.

Also, I really liked the Take on me music video, I think it still holds up really well today. I mean, you can throw away the song that is undoubtly the staple of the eighties artificial pop-music style, but the video with the animation and real footage mend together is really amazing and IMHO, stood the test of time.

oh, hah, I loved that video. Whoever the character with the purple hat (or was it green) was, he got his own show on MTV soon after. I can't remember too many videos because most of the best ones I have on my old hd.

Prodigy - Smack My Bitch Up

I agree. I don't think many people in America had a chance to see this one. Mtv would only show it after 1am because of the graphic nature.

'Closer' is a good pick also. It spawned about 2 Billion imitators (style-wise) after that.

A really good recent one was by Coldplay, ("Somewhere Only We Know"). Where it's shot in reverse, and at the end we seem the guy running from the scene of an accident where his girlfriend is killed.

Focking awsome video...brilliant stuff!
is that the one on the train where everything outside zooms by to the beat/rhythm of the music?

if so, that is cool.
